I walked into my home and braced myself. Coming home like this never really ended up like this. I looked around the living room, and saw my dad and mum on the couch. They stood up.
“Where have you been?” My dad bellowed.
“I was at some friend’s house and fell asleep there.” I said biting my lip.
My dad frowned. “Liar. You don’t have any friends!” He said.
I took a deep breath. “I do actually. Seven in fact.” I said, standing up straight. Feeling proud.
He spit into a cup he had. “Whatever. Get out of my sight.” He said sitting back down.
I walked into my room and slammed my door. I leaned up against it and let out a sigh. I looked around my room. I had clothes scattered all over the floor, a messy bed with neon sheets, a desk overflowing with text books and paper, and open closet, posters on the walls, and a TV on a dresser.
I flopped down on my bed, and looked over at my clock on my desk. 1:30 pm. I sighed. The party seems so far away. I played with my thumbs thinking of what I could do. I could read, I could get some homework done early, watch TV… But it seemed like everything I could do would take up so little time.
I got up and walked to my closet, deciding what I wanted to wear for tonight. I took out some black tights, black tank top, purple lace see through shirt, leather jacket, and black high heels. I folded them up in a neat pile, and set them on my dresser.
I made my bed, picked up all clothes on the floor, and organized my papers on my desk. I looked at the clock. 2:30 pm. I closed my eyes and let my head fall down. I thought it would be later.
I realized I was still a bit tired, and set my alarm for 6:00 pm. I laid down on my bed, not bothering to put blankets on me.

I woke up to my alarm and shot up. I walked hurriedly to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and saw a sandwich made, I picked it up. I ate it in big bites, when my mum walked in.
She had light brown hair, freckles, blue eyes, and a soft face. Like, a generous look, you know? “Going somewhere? You look like you’re in a rush.” She said giving a slight laugh.
I nodded. “I was invited to a party that’s in two hours.” I said. “Dallas Winston invited me.”
My mum looked shocked. “I’ve heard about him… Who are your other friends?” She asked.
“Ponyboy, Sodapop-“
My mum cut in. “Good, the nice ones. I’ll let your father know you’ll be going there, he won’t like knowing you’re going to Dallas Winston’s party.” She said giving me a wink.
I smiled at her and took my last bite of my sandwich. “Thanks.” I said, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
I ran into my room and got dressed. I walked into my bathroom and curled my hair, and painted my nails purple. I walked back into my bedroom, and saw it was 7:30. I grabbed my purse and hurried out the door.
It was cold again. Well, it stayed cold, I guess.
Buck’s place was two blocks away, I walk by it a lot. I walked hurriedly, I don’t want another encounter with a Soc. I looked up at the sky, and saw it was cloudy. It might rain sometime. I shook my head, scolding myself for not bringing an umbrella.
I arrived at Buck’s place. It had steps, with wheels at the sides, and a neon sign that said Bud on it. I giggled at this, and walked up to the door.
I knocked, and waited. I tapped my foot impatiently. Finally, the door swung open. “Who are you?” Buck asked. He was tall, in his twenties, and had a bit of a beard going on.
