A girl goes home for summer vacation to visit her parents but instead of finding them all she finds is an empty house.

Last night it was really hard to sleep in my house. I was so scared to be alone. I finally fell asleep at 3:00 am in the morning so I am really tired this morning. Gabby came over for breakfast, since I was making pancakes. "You look zombie-like," Gabby said after I served the pancakes. "You would too if you only got 5 hours of sleep," I yawned. "Oh well I got my 9 hours of beauty rest," she said while fluttering her eyelashes. "So how did your appointment go yesterday?" I asked after I took a bite of pancake. "It went well, the doctor was definitely surprised." "Yea probably," I said as silence engulfed us. "So is Alex getting let out today?" Gabrielle asked while I was washing the dishes. "No tomorrow." "Oh that sucks." "Well I wouldn't want him not staying because I want him to get better." "Yea I guess." "What's the matter? You have been down in the dumps all morning," I asked Gabby as I sat down with some coffee. "You have your life all put together, yet mind is falling apart," she said as her eyes glazed over. "That is not true," I said. "Oh yea, how is it not?" Gabby asked as tears started to fall. "I don't have either of my parents and you at least have one." "Yea one," she cried. "I would take one over none any day." "Yea I guess," she said as she wiped her tears. "You should go talk to your mom," I said as I rubbed her back. "Ok," she said sniffing, getting up, then leaving. Hey Cassie, guess what?!?! Alex texted me. What? They are letting me out today!!! So now we can go on a real date! Yay!!!! I texted back as a smile came onto my lips. I'll pick you up around 6:00. Ok I texted back as I thought of what I would wear tonight. Before I could go upstairs and check out my outfits, there was a knock on the door. "Coming!" I yelled as I ran to the door. Outside the door was Officer Jackson. "Hello Miss. Bisdy," he said walking in without even asking me. "Umm hello," I said. "I am here to talk to you about what we found out about your parents." "Ok," I said as I walked back towards the kitchen, him following in pursuit. "Ok so when we searched the backyard we did find signs of struggle," he said once we sat down at the bar stools. "What kind of struggle?" I asked. "We saw heel marks on the ground." "Ok did you find anything else?" "Yes we found out that there were three people kidnapping your parents." "Ok," I said urging him to go on. "Right now we are analyzing the footprints and a cloth that we found on the ground." "Is that all you found?" I asked. "Yes I'm sorry." "No it's ok I'm just glad you found something." "Thank you, well I'll be taking my leave now," he said showing himself out. ***** It was 3 hours till Alex was supposed to pick me up and I have no idea what I'm going to wear. Thankfully I have a fashionista right next door. "We are going to need to go to the mall," she said after browsing my clothes. "Ok we better go quick then," I said as we went downstairs and into the car. "Turn here," she said motioning to the left where a decently sized mall stood. "Ok where to first?" I asked when we got inside. "Let's go to Aeropostale," she said taking off to who knows where. "Don't you think I am a little to old to be shopping at Aeropostale?" I asked. "It doesn't matter, as long as you still fit in it and you do," she said walking into the store where a worker was handing out coupons. "Thank you," I said taking one as I went to find Gabby. I found her looking at some short dresses. "I am not wearing those," I said as I looked at the ones she was picking out for me to try on. "Why?" "Because half of my butt will hang out," I said. "No it won't trust me," she handed me the dresses and showed me into a dressing room. The first dress was a simple yellow sleeveless dress with a brown belt.
