Agent Coulson's POV:
This whole thing was a mess, I'm glad it was finally all over. Seeing Jess as she was, a wreck, destroyed...It made me think of how Daisy was when she found out about her parents and her past. She was so innocent, I really did feel sorry for her.
Everyone at Shield knew how good Ward was with manipulation. He fooled us all when he was undercover, he destroyed us all when he betrayed us. For Jess, it must have felt like a bombshell had fallen on her, she was the main target for Ward's twisted plans.
"Sir, what did you want me to do with him?" Mack asked as I stepped into the house she was in. My eyes shot to the body that was lying on the floor. It was the one time Ward was not one step ahead, he always had one plan up his sleeve incase something went wrong.
"We'll have to bring him on the plane" I told Mack who nodded, Hunter stood there, dumbfounded.
"Can't we just chuck him to the side?"
"Hunter, your sister needs you. Go help her" I ordered him but I knew he was going to do it anyway, he was just afraid. He didn't want to see his sister hurt, broken...Not again. He was the only one who could get through to her though, well, him and Daisy. He walked off without hesitation leaving me and Mack standing close to Ward's body.
"Does she know?" Mack asked and I immediately shook my head.
"She can't know yet. She's been through a lot. We need to get her back to herself. She needs to become stronger before we tell her the truth" I told Mack who looked unsure. I felt guilty for hiding such a big secret but she couldn't handle it yet.
"What if she finds out before?"
"She won't. I'll keep it hidden. The only way she'll know is if I tell her" I sighed and pointed at Ward's body. "Drag him on the plane, we'll hide him and lock him up at the HQ. We need answers from him again" Mack slowly picked up Ward's body, struggling slightly as he nodded and headed towards the door. "Oh, and Mack? This is between us" He nodded and trudged forwards. We needed to know what Hydra was up to and whilst Ward was here, no longer apart of Hydra. Jess couldn't find out that she only iced him, put him to sleep. It was better if she thought she killed him so then she could finally move on and be apart of the team. Ward will not hurt her or anyone else again.
A/N: Very short chapter but...This is the second book finished! I'm working on a 3rd book (Noo please stop) Which will be different to the first two (No kidnappings...Well, none that are in my idea's atm) they will focus more on Shield but yes, Ward will be in it and Jess will be in it so stay tuned. :D
