Roxanne's POV
4 years later
I was dropping my baby brother off at school. He went to a public school across town. It was the only one that I felt safe sending him to.
"Bye Loveo, have good day at school ok behave!" I warned.
"I know, bye Lovie see you later!" He exclaimed as he hugged me.
"Bye love you too I'll see you after school."
He nodded and dashed into the classroom, I rushed to my bike and hopped on.
7:30
Oh boy! I have to go I can't be late. I peddled my bike all the way to school; chained it up and hurried inside.
Earlier this morning
Roxanne's POV
I heard my alarm clock and hopped out of bed and into the shower I threw on a pair of old jeans, my red sweater, and old high tops I ran over to my baby brother who was still in bed and woke him up.
"Come on Ash you gotta get up," I said shaking him slightly.
he looked so peaceful sleeping there but if I didn't wake him we would both be late to school and that can't happen
"Hey! Good morning Roxa,"he said happily while rubbing his eyes.
"Come on time to take a shower be quick ok."
"Ok "
I ran to our small kitchen it only had to three ground cabinets and a sink with small old fridge 2 top cabinets. I made 4 slices of toast and two cups of orange juice. I wish I had more to give to him but I can't and its the worst feeling in the world wanting to give him the best childhood in the world but I feel useless and helpless, but I'll give this kid everything I got if it means a happy childhood for him then I'll do anything I love him more than anything in this he's my baby brother I-
"Roxa I'm done!" yelled Ash from the bathroom
"Coming!" I yelled back.
I dashed into the room and grabbed his clothes and passed them to him so he could change and I fixed his hair curly Brown hair and grabbed his green book bag and handed it to him.
"Come on, I made some breakfast and after you're done eating I'll drop you off at school ok."
"Yeah ok," he smiled.
He was such happy kid. All I really wanted was the best for him he was always smiling and happy. I never showed him anything that could make him sad he was too precious , too innocent , too pure to show him the true horrors of our world. I made sure of it he didn't deserve to have a ruined childhood he deserved the best one a kid could have and I planned on giving it to him.
He was my world.
The one thing I still loved.
He was the light in my world of darkness.
My happiness.
