I walked up to Hex, sparing another glance at Jonas. "Hey." I said slithering up next to him. His plate had a least three of those red French macaroons, one was half eaten in his hand.
"Ew!" I whispered. "How can you eat those?" I asked him, my face scrunched up in disgust.
He looked at me, confused. He slowly chewed his last bite then looked at his plate. He finally nodded. "It's made with animal blood calm down."
"It's still gross! Plus, those aren't even meant for us those are for the vampires here." I say the last part lowly.
He closed his eyes then opened them slowly, as if irritated. "Sucks for them..." he laughed at his own joke. He grabbed another one and ate one half. "And it's not like saying the word 'vampire' is against the law. You can say it out loud." He handed the other half of his macaroon to me. "Try it, you might like it."
I took the macaroon and inspected it. It looked just like a macaroon, except it was red. I've eaten animal meat with animal blood still in it, how bad could it be. I took a bite and chew cautiously.
Hex didn't bother watching me eat. "How is it?" He ate another one off of his plate.
It tastes just like a regular, sugary, macaroon. "Actually not that bad..." I kept chewing. The treat began to melt in my mouth, that's when I tasted metal. Plain animal blood did not taste good. I swallowed. "Okay never mind, I don't like those at all..." I spit off to the side, masking it look like I just spit up blood. "Gross." I gagged.
Hex made a small laugh while eating his treats. "More for me."
I rolled my tongue across my teeth trying to get that taste out of my mouth as I looked over the people in front of me. People danced and mingled all around and mostly in front of us because we were near the entrance. One person stuck out in the crowd, a boy with white hair and orange eyes. That cute wolf boy I met in the woods, a few weeks ago.
I felt like a soccer ball just hit my head and my vision blinked in and out like someone was changing channels on a T.V. I saw children, I heard their laughter, I saw fire, I heard screams. My vision came back like I just came out of a really bad nightmare. I looked around.
Hex looked at me, concern crossed his face. "Are you okay?" He turned his body now as his concern grew when I didn't look at him. "Amber?"
I looked at him, some relief came to me when I saw him, knowing I was still here and everything was okay. "Yeah-" I blinked and stood up straight. "Totally fine, just- uh, so many people." I warily smiled. I looked back into the crowd to find the white haired boy at the food table. "I-I'll be right back." I said waving him off.
"Amber." Hex called after me, but I didn't answer him.
That was strange, that has never happened to me before. I didn't even have to touch someone to see those. Were those memories that I just saw? Who's were they?
I shook my head as I walked back up to the buffet table. I walked right up beside the white haired boy. "Hey." I spoke up, making him jump.
He turned and looked me over. It took a while, then he realized who I was. His eyes widened. "Wh-what are you doing here?" He asked me in his smooth voice.
"I was invited..." I said like it was obvious-which it was.
"Oh, right." He turned to leave, but I grabbed his shoulder.
"Hey, wait, can't we talk? How's your brother doing?" I asked trying to be friendly.  "At least tell me your name."
"Uh, Harry." He looked down. "I-I can't talk to you..." He said avoiding my eyes.
I removed my hand from his shoulder. "What, why? Because of Diana?" I asked raising my voice.
"Diane, actually." He looked back up, "I-I am just not permitted to speak to you." He turned. "Sorry." He mumbled before disappearing into the crowd of dancers.
Diane must have threatened him again with exile. But if she already gave him 'his last warning', why was he still here? Something I don't understand about the way they live probably.
I turned to go back to Hex when I was stopped by a guy with copper hair and a small gote. He blocked my path with his hand on the table. "Hey there." He smiled with his lips together.
"Hi." I said before stepping around him.
He suddenly zipped around then in front of me. I gasped. He had Hex's speed. "Oh come on now, I just want to talk..." He had a southern drawl to his voice. "I couldn't help but smell your beautiful aroma from across the dance floor and I thought it well to come see you in person." He looked me over, making me uncomfortable. I should have never left Hex's side.
"Um, I'm not sure if that's a compliment but uh, I gotta go meet someone." I quickly pointed to where I was going and pushed passed him.
He didn't follow me this time, that I was thankful for. I went right back to where I was with Hex, but he wasn't there. I looked around but he was nowhere with in sight.
That same guy sped up and leaned his shoulder on a tree in front of me. "Looks like no ones here..." He shrugged. He came off the tree and walked up to me. "Why don't we get outta here, huh?" He clipped my chin with his thumb. He paused then his face looked perplexed as he stared at my face. He said trying to figure me out. "What are you exactly?"
The man was suddenly shoved against the tree he was leaning on earlier. Hex was there standing, staring at man with red eyes. The man pressed himself up against the tree in fear. His eyes also turned red. The man bared his teeth and hissed at him. His canines were longer than they should have been.
Hex growled and took another step towards him until the man slowly sunk down the trunk and coward away from him, avoiding eye contact. Hex stopped growling and backed off. "Get out of here." His voice was powerful and dominant. He flicked his head to the side.
The man ran off into the woods.
Hex turned to me, his eyes still red. "Are you okay?" He blinked and the red of his eyes receded into his pupil.
I stepped away from him. "What was that?"
"That's what being dominant looks like, Amber." He said as if he was teaching me like he does in practice. "Remember that for next time."
"Honestly, that really freaked me out..." I was still breathing hard from what happened in front of me. "Was that a vampire?"
Hex nodded while looking down, his bottom lip was out as if he was thinking. "Yeah, uh, we're at a party... So let's party huh?" He grabbed my shoulder and led me through the crowd. "No need to make things so down."
I stopped him. "But Dragolya said they only drink human blood." I shouted over the music.
He came close to me so I could hear him better. "Amber, that's not why he wanted you to follow him into the woods." He shouted back. He waited for those words to sink in before he kept pushing me into the crowd. We got to the dance floor, and everyone was jumping up and down, flailing their arms, bumping into each other. "You can join if you want, I don't know about you but I am." He runs into the crowd and disappears in the dancing people.
I stood outside the dance floor watching every kind of person do their own thing. I finally saw Mistory come through the crowd of people.
She ran up to me and took my hand. "What are you waiting for come on!"
I unwillingly joined her into the crowd of people. Once I got to jumping and dancing, I couldn't stop. I've never done anything like this before, I don't know why I even second guessed myself, this is such a blast! I jumped and waved my hands around, I shook my body around until my core hurt and I had to bring down my arms from loss of circulation.
I excused myself from the dance floor to get a drink. I got to a punch bowl that was the most accessible, only to find it had no punch ladle. I looked around the very abnormally large punch bowl, no ladle. I did find cups next to the bowl though. I looked at the bowl, then the cups. I decided to scoop up the juice with the cup, easy.
I stood on my tippy toes to scoop up the juice, but before my cup touched the red liquid I noticed a large figure hovering above the bowl. I looked up to see a very large brown dragon head staring at me. It had small sharp horns pointing backwards on its head, and large eyes. He grunted at me, like some kind of language I couldn't understand. I tilted my head in confusion. He looked at my cup still hovering above the punch.
I quickly removed my hand. "Oh, sorry."
He proceeded to drink from the punch bowl, half of it was gone when he was done. He stared at me with his gold eyes for a moment before speaking. "Turn into your form, I promise this to be better to drink." He sounded very handsome. I melted under his words.
"I couldn't reach anyways." I shrugged.
"Cub? Attending a gathering?" He asked tilting his head. He brought his long neck over the table and sniffed my hair with his large warm nose, blowing my hair back. "Elder cub?" He brought his head back. His scales were smaller and placed together tighter, almost leather-like.
"I'm here with my friends." I silently say with a smile.
The dragon nodded agreeably.
"Alright!" An female announcer called out with a microphone where I could not spot her. "Attention everyone!"
Everyone's attention was immediately grabbed as if they were expecting her to announce this just a minute ago. I heard some even say, "yes!" Or, "this is my favorite!" And with that, everyone started to move and gather towards the speaker.
Mistory came out of nowhere and grabbed my hand and pulled me through the crowd going towards the speaker.
"The games are about to begin!" The announcer announced.
Mistory led me to Dragolya and Hex who were standing at the foot of where the speaker was standing.
Enine was standing on a tall stump with a wireless microphone in her hand. Her wings were out of her armor, and Emily, her fern, was dressed in glitter. "Okay, the first game of tonight is 'hunt or be hunted'." She said in a suspense tone.
Everyone cheered.
Enine nodded as she went along. "The rules."
"Psh." Mistory snickered.
"The rules are, no stealing, no cheating, no black mail or preconceived sabotage, no eating each others' game, and you can't kill and/or eat other game members."
She reached down and picked up a jar with shreds of paper in it that was at her feet. She sifted through the paper. "The first group in this competition is... Shifters!"
There were some cheers and claps. Dragolya crossed her arms.
Diane strutted out to where a white line was being spray painted for a starting line, her arms swinging in a cocky manner and a smirk on her face. Her favorite picks for the game right behind her. Including Harry, who barely glanced at me.
Three other Shifters joined, including  Jonas.
Enine sifted through the jar again. "Next team..." She angled it in the light. "Archers!"
There were claps and cheers.
I nugged Mistory. "Aren't you gonna go to that team? That's your thing right?"
She shrugged. "I don't belong there."
Archers with bows and arrows equipped to their backs approached the line. These guys looked liked the real thing, they had leather straps all around them for hunting. One looked over at us and glared.
I took a step back behind Mistory.  But she just put me back where I was. "Don't cower... To anyone." She silently told me.
I tried to stand straight as she told me that.
"And the last team of tonight's game..." Enine violently rummaged through the jar.
"How is this chosen?" I asked Mistory.
She leaned towards me in a whispering manner. "Each of our ages are added together in these 'groups' and are put into the jar by how old we are, each 50th year is another paper put in the jar. We don't have the most pieces of paper in there, the sum of dragons do, it's all by chance, although we usually get picked."
Enine angled the paper in the light again. "... Renegades!" She announced.
My face scrunched up. Renegade?
Some of the crowd cheered but there were a lot of stares. The other contenders looked bummed out as they sighed and slouched.
I looked around for the Renegade group. Then I noticed that everyone was staring at us. Dragolya, Mistory and Hex began to move forward to the starting line. I followed.
I could hear a couple people whispering to one another behind me. "Aw man, they always win...", "'hope no one dies..." Someone snickered. I'm not sure why that was funny, but it sounded like my group was the best out of anybody else's. I couldn't help but grin to myself.
Enine raised her arm in the air to gain everyone's attention. "Now, which ever team obtains the most game - that is scattered about this forest by our always supportive 'Game Givers' - in the next hour, will win the game!"
The other two groups were huddled together, putting together a strategy. My team just consisted of Dragolya, Mistory, Hex and I. We didn't huddle, they only looked anxious to start.
An echo started in my head, warning me of silent speaking that's about happen. "Amber," Dragolya silently said. "We are going to split up as soon as the game starts." I flicked my head to her in worry. She looked back with a reassuring expression on her face. "You'll be fine." She said silently. "We need to cover more ground in order to win. Just stay away from the other teams. If you are scared or if you are hurt just call out to us, one of us will come and get you." She smiled.
I nervously smiled back.
"Let the games begin," Enine raised her left wing to the side. "3...2...1!" Her wing went down. "Go!"
We all ran out into the dark woods. It was a blur as I ran through the ferns and dodged branches. I ran forward till I couldn't hear nor see the gathering behind me. I stopped and notice that everyone else had split up already.
Once I looked around I noticed that it wasn't really that dark in these woods. The full moon tried its best to shine through the tall Douglas firs. The ground was covered with a carpet of red needles. I almost forgot about the competition and wanted to sit in the moon light instead.
I sat down on the soft ground. It was dry and slightly warm. I don't know how long I sat there but as I did, moss grew around me. Mushrooms grew in a circle around me as well. I looked up at the moon, it's brightness made my eyes glow and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I turned into form, and sat still. The air was cool and felt good against my scales. I rolled around in the dirt playfully as I felt no care in the world. I stretched out my wings as if they had been wrapped up for a thousand years. I ran in circles, bringing up the leaves, and opening my wings so I could pretend that I could fly. I calmed down and laid on the mossy ground below me and breathed hard through my nose as I watched the moon illuminated particles fly up from the ground.
My ear flicked towards a rustling sound in the fern a few feet to my right. I turned my head and sniffed the air quietly. A dark brown rabbit hopped out from the ferns and nibbled on a nut on the ground then my ears perked up. Perfect! I have already scored!
The rabbits ears perked up at the same time, it knew I was there. It's black nose sniffed the air, I couldn't tell wether or not it could smell me. It sat stiller then a rock.
As did I.
I moved my foot toward it.
The rabbit stayed still.
I moved my other feet and stood up.
The rabbit flinch and went into a fleeing stance.
I took another quiet step towards the rabbit and it hopped away once. It must have a hole somewhere near here so I had to act fast.
The rabbit hopped once more and something triggered in my brain to chase it. I sprinted at the rabbit and it ran away from me. I used all my senses, except taste, to follow the rabbit through the ferns. I lunged forward and snapped at it with my mouth, I missed. I lunged again, but it took a sharp turn. I leaped forward as it dove into its hole. I just barely missed it. I dug at the hole and put my muzzle in it, but dirt got in my nose and I sneezed. I sat there hoping it would come out to see if I was there, then I would pounce on it and grab it. But it stayed in its hole. I huffed out a breath. I was so close. I grunted in frustration and paced around the hole.
Okay, new game plan.
I sniffed the air for a deer or another rabbit. I only had an hour and who knows how long I was sitting back there. I kept walking ahead.
I found a tree with a low limb and decided to climb it to get a better view. It took a little while but eventually made it to the first branch. I looked over the forest floor in front of me and saw nothing. I sighed and turned around to look at the other side of the woods. Almost immediately I spotted the rabbit, at the other ends of its burrow, and it brought a friend with it.
Time to kill two birds with one stone.
I readied myself for flight and pushed off my hind legs. I opened my wings and soared down towards the rabbits. My wings tilted a bunch as I descended, threatening to spiral. I put out my claws and aimed at both rabbits. One rabbit saw me and tried to run while the other just sat there as I grab them. They squealed. I couldn't stick my landing and I rolled into damp ferns. I shook my head and stood up. Both rabbits were dead from me rolling on top of them. Oops.
CI turned out of form and picked up the rabbits by their feet. I looked around for some ivy to tie them together. Then an idea popped into my mind. I raised my hand out in front of me, and from the ground up ivy stretched to my hand and rapped its vine around my finger. I picked it and tied it around the rabbits feet.
What time was it? I didn't have my phone, and I didn't know what time we got here either. I looked up at the moon, but I didn't know where it was the first time either.
I walked over to the nearest branch and tide the rabbits on it. The rules were that you can't steal, so they should be fine just hanging here till I come and get them.
I heard the rustling of plants in my left ear. I looked over, hoping it was just a contender. My nose smelled something rotten, like a dead fish. My eye caught something unsettling, furry, big and brown lumbering my way. At least I think it's brown. It's shoulders were the only thing I could see till it came closer. What were the chances. He must have smelled the dead rabbits. The very large black bear didn't see me, for he held his head down. I couldn't tell if it was a shifter or not, so I cleared my throat.
The bear stopped and looked up at me, his eyes were black and empty, and his head was round. After a second of realization he raised his lips and slightly growled. Like the scariness of an angry wolf, an angry bear was worse. His ears pinned back and his nose scrunched up showing all of his yellow teeth.
I didn't move. I've had experience with a black bear before, but Mistory had killed it, and it tasted good.
The bear grunted and growled louder.
Okay, probably not a contender.
The bear roared a deep growl at me again.
I stayed in my spot. If it's a fight for food, then so be it.
I turned into form and roared back at him louder while raising my upper body swinging my arms forward and flapping my wings at him, making myself seem bigger, like Dragolya and Mistory had taught me.
The black bear looked taken aback and backed up a little. He wasn't going to take it. He rose up and stood up on his hind legs and roared louder.
I stood my ground and kept my head held high. I hissed at him.
He charged at me. Considering most of bears charges are bluffs, I stayed still. But this wasn't a bluff. Like 10 football players, he ran into me and nocked me to the ground. I was too small to take him on. I cried out a loud call so the others could hear. I heard an answering call back, but it sounded really far away. This might take a while. I quickly got up and turned out of form so that I may slip away quicker. I ran to the tree, grabbed my rabbits and scaled the tree they were tied to. I couldn't climb as fast and swift as the others but I was learning, and I was fast enough to get away from the bear. I maybe got a quarters way up the tree and stopped. I looked down.
The bear paced the tree, but was two big to fit through the tightly knit branches. He grunted in frustration and left.
I sighed and relaxed on the branch and waited till I knew he was gone. After a minute or two I decided it was safe to climb down. I climbed down cautiously. As I hit the ground and pulled sticks out of my hair. It felt like it had already been an hour, but I had no idea where the party was now.
"Dang it." I whispered to my self.
I sniffed the air for any sign of the gathering. But something else caught my nose, something that reeked of fish. I spun around to see that the bear was back. He stood, taller and more intimidating than before. The smelly bear roared at me again. I froze and couldn't move.
Something big came running up behind me, it smelled like Dragolya. I was too scared to look though, for I didn't want to take my eyes off of the bear. She roared at the bear dominantly and the bear got back down on all fours and ran like a cub running for its momma.
I exhaled and turned to her. "Thanks Dragolya."
She turned out of form, except... Hex stood there, looking confused.
My eyes widened. "Oh, sorry Hex. I thought you were Dragolya..."
He smiled and shook his head. "No, I am not. Dragolya went to the other side of the mountain so she wouldn't run into any other contenders." He pulled up his sleeve to look at his watch. "We still have a little more than thirty minutes left."
"What about Mistory?" I asked. "Where is she?"
"Don't care." He responded. I sighed at his ignorance. Hex looked down at my rabbits. "Wow. Good for you, you already have a prize. I didn't expect you to get anything yet."
My nose scrunched up. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means that I didn't think you were going to catch anything yet. What else would it mean?"
I sighed, not wanting to argue. I changed the subject. "Did you catch anything?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Come on, let's get that bear. Maybe you'll learn something." He began walking towards where the bear left.
I tried not to be offended, but I mean, I may actually learn something. I walked along with him.
"You need to toughen up." He said out-of-the-blue after we walked a bit.
"What?"
"You did nothing but stare at the thing when I got there. It could have really hurt you."
"Well... I was frozen in fear." I said offensively.
He flicked his head to me. "That's your problem." He said seriously. "You need to learn to fight back, don't take crap from anyone." We stopped, "Got it?" He looked at me with red eyes.
I looked away.
"Amber, look at me." He said in a softer tone.
I looked at him. Trying to act stronger than I really was.
His eyes were still red as he stared me down. He looked between both my eyes. Then his eyes went back to dark brown. "Don't ever do what you just did again. Don't submit to anyone, not even me, or Dragolya, or Mistory." I nodded my head. And he nodded back. "Good." He said. "Come on now. Your gonna take down this bear."
"Me?" I asked frantically.
"Yep. Show me you are strong."
"I'm strong..." I mumbled.
"I'll go first." He reassured. "Then you can finish it off, yeah?"
"Yeah okay, sounds good." I nodded, trying to trick myself into believing I was brave.
"We may actually loose this year because of all these training exercises I'm wasting time on." He muttered under his breath.
I looked to him sharply. "Hey I-" He stopped me and looked around. He escorted me to tree to our left and I knew well enough just to stay there. I hugged in frustration, not getting my day.
I couldn't see anything around us. No bear in sight. Hexacious stalked across from where I was, then turned in form. He crouched and wiggled his body into the ground to where he looked like a large rock in the brush.
Instinctively, I turned into form as well.
"Don't move or make a sound, or the bear will run away again." Hex silently said through my mind.
"What be-" I was cut off by a noise in the bushes.
The black bear waddled out from some bushes, grunting every now and then.
My ears perked up. I could just see myself looking like a pointer dog who has spotted a quail. Hex's shoulders moved up and down as if he was about to pounce. The bears head perked up in alarm and its nose wiggled in the air. Hex was too close, it was going to run away.
Before I could blink there was suddenly an arrow in the bears side, the bear then fell to the ground after a distressed noise came out of its mouth. It tried to move but it dropped lower to the ground and I saw it shoulders lower as all of its breath exhaled from its body.
Someone ran out of the bushes and inspected the bear. He had a bow in hand and a quiver on his back.
I turned out of form.
I heard Hex growl. Hex lifted himself up and roared at the other contender.
The guy jumps and takes a few steps back. "Whoa!" Is all he yells in surprise.
I ran in front of Hex to stop him from hurting him, if that was his intent. "No, no, Hex!"
He maybe took a step forward, but he did stop. His eyes were only on the archer.
I turned to the archer but glanced at Hex every now and then. "That was ours!"
He seemed to not notice Hex anymore. "Well, I didn't see your name written on it."
Ooh sassy.
I sigh. "Well could u please let us have this one."
"No," he shakes his head. "I shot it, I keep it." He ripped the arrow from the bears side.
"Please, we haven't caught any-"
"Listen girly," he started.
I scrunched up my nose. "-excuse me?-"
"-you clearly haven't participated in this game before. It's very competitive, and you clearly don't look the type to be here."
"Clearly, you must be blind..." Hex was now standing next to me in human form.
The archer looked at Hex with fearful eyes.
Why aren't I scary?
"Look, I shot it. I keep it." He proclaimed.
"Look," Hex repeated in the mans voice. "it would be best to just give this to us. You can't carry a bear plus two deer all by yourself..." Hex tried to reason. The archer looked questioned.
"Don't bother asking, I can smell it all over you." Hex added.
It took a moment of staring before he gave in. "Fine, fine!" He rose up his hands. "You can have it! Just don't mention this to anyone." He said running off.
Hex turned into form and scooped up the bear carcass in his mouth.
"Thank you Hex, for not hurting him." I sighed.
"Sure, no problem..." He said as if he was never going to hurt him.
I raised my eyebrow at him. "If he has two deer, and we only have these," I said gesturing to our prizes. "What does everyone else have?"
"Depends." He shrugs. He goes down to where he used his wings as front legs. "Hop on. I'm going to find Dragolya."
I turned into form and climbed atop his back.
Hex set the bear down and placed his claws on top, then gripped the bear with both feet and took off. The thundering flap of his wings seemed to shake the earth beneath us. It took a minute for us to get just above the trees and to start flying forward. The bear must have weighed more than I thought, because he had to push off the ground with the bear in his claws until his wings would carry all three of us. Hex was a rough flyer. I clung on with my claws, hoping I didn't pull off one of his scales. When he leveled out and began soar I released my grip.
"Is flying hard?" I asked.
"What do u mean?" He asks back.
"I mean, is flying hard?" I ask again.
He laughed. "Well, it takes a little while just to get used to it."
"Then, why were you being all wobbly when u first started to take off?"
"The bear is making my balance go all wonky." He said adjusting his feet, make him tilt a little.
"When will I be able to fly?" I asked him.
At first didn't think he was listening, but then he finally answered. "I do believe when you get to about the size of a horse - maybe, 14, 15 hands - then your wingspan will be great enough for flight."
I'm probably the size of an average horse now. "But I am the size of a horse."
"If you think a pony is a horse, than yes, yes you are."
"Okay then smarty pants, how much longer till I'm about the size of a horse?" I asked him. I craned my neck over more so that I may see his face better.
Hex thought for another second. "Elders grow faster than regular dragons so... maybe in a few years." Hex let out a large breath through his nose and tilted only slightly so that he may turn.
"Why is it that Elder dragons grow faster?" I asked him.
"Elders are the higher species, the crucial ones to lead us, so to speak. They are the future, and are counted on to make more so that they may naturally lead the future. So the faster their offspring grows, the faster their will be more strong and mature dragons to lead." He explained.
I nodded. "I get it."
"That is why it is the rule of the Hunters, not to kill Elder dragons."
"But if the Hunters are soul-set on destroying all of us, why leave Elders out of it?" I questioned. I readjusted my claws on Hex's scales so that I was more comfortable.
"They do not want to destroy us. They want to over power Elders, so that they can order Elders to over power the rest of us, so they can use us." He said grimly.
"Use how?..." I hesitantly asked.
"Test on us, make cures, make poisons... The worst of it is using us for war." He added. "Think about it, the ultimate weapons. We can take many bullets until our scales are penetrated, we can fly into enemy bases, onto enemy airplanes. We have powers, can turn into a human or a dragon in a matter of seconds." He paused. "This wouldn't be a problem - helping our countries and states - if they didn't want to control us."
"Oh..." I sighed and rested my head on his back. I studied his flight in the darkness, counting how many flaps he would take before soaring again. Three, then one more after a second. His ears moved like satellites as he scanned the forest. After a while of looking from above the woods Hex slowed down and hovered in one spot. Moving his wings in a circular motion to keep himself in the air. I gripped harder onto his shoulders since he had become almost completely vertical in the sky.
He jerked forward and began to circle one area. He roared to call out for Dragolya, then after no answer he called again. After three seconds of silence he went to call out again but was cut off by a loud roar coming from ahead of us in the woods. I couldn't see who roared, but it was loud and deep and had a gurgle sound near the end. He turned and headed back.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"She's not here." He said. "She must have went back already."
I Grunted in confusion. "Then who was that?"
"Just someone out for hunt, it was nobody." He said plainly.
I scrunched up my muzzle and looked up at the moon. I got lost in its beauty and soon we reached the gathering. Hex flew down and had a rough landing through the trees. I hoped off of Hex's back and followed him as he brought the bear up front where Enine waited.
