Chapter 28 In Comes my Fiance

Lucy's POV

What the hell is Laxus doing here? My sixth sense is telling me that my father has something to do with this, but why be so up front about it? Why not come to me in secret? I felt Natsu's hand go lax in mine and I dont blame him, my fiancé is suddenly here and we didn't know why. I squeeze his hand in reassurance.

His being right beside me helped immensely. I'd never say it out loud but Laxus does scare me. Even standing here looking at him, I remember feeling all those bolts of electricity frying me from the inside out when he shocked me into a coma. Literally!

"I don't remember inviting you into the conversation." Laxus sneered. His eyes narrowed as he sniffed at Natsu. "I didn't know your kind stuck around the surface this long." What the hell is he talking about? Natsu's hand tightened in mine in an almost bruising grip.

"Laxus did Jude send you?" I demand bringing the conversation back. He chuckled from what seemed to be an inside joke.

"Did I ever mention that I love when you call him that?" I keep my glare on him.

"I don't really care what fancies your sickening mind. Answer my question." His eyes narrow at me before a smile lifts his features.

"Maybe I'll tell you, if you come home with me." My heart dropped and I knew I was shaking. He just uttered my worst fear. Am I suppose to go home? I don't want to. Please don't let that be the case. Natsu pulled me out of my thoughts and tugged me behind him.

"You must be insane if you think I will allow her to go anywhere with you." Natsu gritted.

"This has nothing to do with you. This is a family matter and in case you misheard I'm her fiancé." Laxus sneered, Natsu scowled fiercely and I felt a huge amount of killing intent leak from him. I better stop this.

"Wait! its ok-"

"No Luce. Im not giving him the chance to hurt you again." I warmed inside despite how messy the situation was becoming. Laxus rose a brow.

"You told him about that?" He seemed surprised then a mischievous grin took hold.

"Are you still scared of lightning sweet cheeks?" He holds his hand out and strong electricity ran wild. I squeezed Natsu's hand trying not to visibly tremble. Suddenly surprising both Laxus and I. Natsu took the hand that was letting loose all the lightning, in a firm grip. I watched Natsu's face, expecting to see pain but there wasn't any, not even a cringe. He stood tall glaring at Laxus.

"So your the best huh?" Natsu questioned almost in a bored tone. "I really hope thats not all you have." Suddenly the atmosphere was dark and both of their power was leaking from them in a show of testosterone. I rip my hand away from Natsu's.

"Natsu stop! Thats enough!" I shout. Though both payed me no mind.

"So your Natsu, Igneel's foster child? I had no idea Igneel had fostered something like you. Oh, how the mighty have fallen." Natsu's eyes flared green and if I wasn't mistaken his teeth seemed longer and sharper. They backed up releasing the other and braced for a fight.

"Since you like fighting little girls and dogs, why not try me? Though I warn you, this will be a fight to the death."

"Perfect." Laxus uttered just as they pounced. Acting quickly I gather as much water as I can.

"YOU TWO NEED A TIME OUT!" I erected a thick wall of ice between them and spikes of ice falling around them creating a cage around them both. Effectively stopping them in there tracks.
