No one bothered me the rest of that day, except Rusl, Ordon villages weapons guy, he asked me to meet him tomorrow morning, which was weird because me rarely talked to me. I guess everyone else saw how exhausted Keronia and I where and let us struggle home. After we reached my house I tied up my horse to the area beside my ladder to my house and a tree. Then, half asleep, half climbing I came home and had a small snack, which was the only think i ate that day. I don't remember much from there because I passed out somewhere in my house.---
As tired as I was, I didn't get much sleep at all. I tossed and turned all night and I was uncomfortable and cold. Ironically I was cold while being haunted by another fire dream, not the same as the last but there was fire, and lots of it. Finally I got up and and realized I couldn't see anything and I was sore all over. The first thing I did was panic and immediately think I went blind and was gonna die alone, where ever I was. But I was just over reacting because while throwing my head around wildly looking for something I could see I saw a light above me, which meant I fell in my basement, but I was still going to die alone, that didn't change, but I calmed down a little. I started to stand up and struggle my way over to yet another ladder to get out, but my leg bumped into something solid and up to my knees. I ran my hands over the surface of it and it was smooth with the rough edges. While wondering what it was, I found a latch on the other side. With my hand still on it I walked over to the other side and pulled it up. Still not able to see anything, I slowly put my hand in hoping not to touch a weird giant beetle or something slimy, but instead of what I feared, it was as solid as the box and was oddly shaped. Deciding to take it into the light I put it in my pant pocket and climbed the ladder out of the basement.
I was standing by my front door, dressed in the same outfit as yesterday except with white pants instead of black, washed, ate a small breakfast, and staring at a purple rupee in my hands, which was worth 50. You know what that meant? I could buy anything I wanted with this! The most expensive thing in the village was 30 rupees, I had 50! As much as I wanted to go on a shopping spree any buy a new outfit and maybe some sword lessons from Russel, I knew I should keep it for important uses. Sighing, I put in down on my table by the door and covered it with some stuff I had lying around it so no one else would see. Then I left my house.
The second I walked out my house and climbed down the ladder, 3 village kids where standing in a small simi-circle talking and gossiping about speculations that go around the village. Beth was the tallest one of the three, and sorta was like the leader of there little group. She had freckles around and on her nose, and was wearing a redish pink shirt and same colored pants. Malo, unlike Beth, was extremely short and could be mistaken for a baby. But hes very serious and quick to make blunt comments. And Malos brother, Talo. He is a little bit shorter then Beth and wears blue pants and a white shirt. He always wears a red bandanna around his head and carries a stick, always swinging it like a sword.
I guess they all finally noticed me when I walked up to them.
"OHH! Kerina! Guess what!" Talo was loud as usual, but seemed overly excited today. "Mr. Rusl is goin-" He was cut off by Beth covering his mouth.
"Don't ruin the surprise dummy!" She said through her teeth. Then let him go and he looked disappointed.
"F-fine. But I wanted to be the one to tell her!" He complained.
"But your not the one who came up with the idea where you?" Malo finally spoke up and commented.
"N-no..." Talo said lowering his stick and looked utterly defeated. Then he instantly brightened back up and started waving his arms at me "OHH! But it's SOO cool! Please go see Mr. Rusl!"
I let out a smile "I can only guess what it could be about." Talo loved swords. And I mean it when I say love. He is overly obsessed with the idea of having one of his own and fighting "dragons and monsters" when he's old enough. So I could only guess what Rusl, Ordon villages Swordmaster, could want with me. Without Keronia, who was gladly being pet by Colin, a young blond haired boy who was Rusls son, I walked into the village.
When I found the swords maker, he was swinging a silver sword with a black handle in his hand on the small half bridge over a creek. He was showing off to his wife Uli who was about to have a kid soon. When Rusl saw me coming he stopped and waved at me and lowered his sword.
"Why hello there Kerina." He said in a friendly tone. "Pretty early isn't it?" Just like the ranch guy, he let out a forced smile and laugh. Ugh why was every one so awkward with me? His wife went inside to retrieve something, and Rusl and I sat at the edge of the creek with our feet in the water.
"So I worked it out with mayor Bo, and gave us full permission to go." He paused "He told me to gather the supplies we needed, and find Kerina and ask her if you would like to bring Keronia." He paused again, man he was dragging this out. "Kerina, would you come with me to Hyrule Castle?" He looked up from the water and faced me. This was an insanely amazing opportunity! Hyrule Castle, The place where princess Zelda lived and all the people, food, lights, and best of all an excuse to get away from this boring village!
A smile spread across my face. "Of course I would love to go! When are we leaving? Today or tomorrow? Is anyone else coming with us?" I couldn't contain my excitement. My eyes glimmered as I stared down into his eyes.
"Oh hold on now, one question at a time, oh, look who's back just in time." He looked up to see Uli slowly walking back to us holding a long dark brown object being held by both hands. Handing it to Rusl, I recognized it instantly. He pulled the object out of its sheath, and held it out to me. It was a wooden sword, crafted just for me.
"I made this for you to practice with, can't have you walking out there unprepared now would we?" Slowly I was starting to like Rusl, he was starting to be one of the few people I liked in this village. He handed the sword to me and I took it in my hands, grinning from ear to ear while holding it.
"Thank you so much, this mean a lot to me." I meant every word of that, I was very grateful since no one else treated me like this.
"Hey, I'll show you a few moves I know with a sword, they can be very useful." We spend to whole rest of the day practicing together until eventually the sun went down and I had to go home. But before I left I completely forgot I had to be at the ranch today and apparently that was already worked out. According to Mayor Bo, I had to work tomorrow then I'm off until I come back from our Castle Town expedition. Thanking Rusl one more time I took the sword home and propped it up next to my bed before I fell into a deep sleep that was undisturbed my nightmares.
