-Bernadette’s Time-

It is Monday.

AGAIN.

Ugh, did I mention that I hate Mondays? What’s worse, next week is already our first periodical examinations. And now, although we are still in our grand slam champion state, classes resume in preparations for the exam.

Bu hu hu hu.

And so the day dragged on. My mind was totally drained by the chapter quiz in Advanced Math. I hate all of the numbers and the letters when Math is involved. It doesn’t help much that our Math subjects here in Aceltoria are the same as those of the college level. The same goes for the Science and English subjects. My only consolation is that I wouldn’t have any hard time when I reach college. From the tales of the graduates before us, they already find college as a piece of cake. They even go as far as to say that college is easier to pass compared to Aceltoria. I think it’s just a case-to-case situation though.

I’m one of the cleaners for the day and so after school I stayed with some of my classmates. We finished in a jiffy and hurried home. While I was on the way to the lobby, I was surprised when someone suddenly grabbed my shoulder and turned me around. It was Diana, and she has a very serious expression on her face.

“Bernadette, can we talk?” she said icily.

“Uh… s-sure. My dad will fetch me around six. Can we finish by then?”

“This will be quick if you will cooperate.”

And so she dragged me towards the garden near the classrooms of the grade four students. She looked at me with seriousness all over her face. I tried to recall what I have done wrong to her.

“What’s the problem, Diana?”

“YOU’RE THE PROBLEM!” I was shocked and jumped a little when I heard her shout. I’m the problem? Moi?

“Me? What did I do?”

She moved closer to me and her eyes locked with mine. “I want you to stay away from Caleb, Ana.”

Say what?!

“What are you saying, Diana? Why should I stay away from Caleb?” I cocked my head to the side.

She growled. Growled! What is she, some werewolf wannabe?

“I know the likes of you. You pretend to be indifferent and casual about it but then you release your inner snake and seduce Caleb from me!” she shrieked.

O…kay. To say that I was baffled is an understatement. Diana seriously has a problem.

“Steal Caleb from you? What are talking about? Is he even yours in the first place?”

It was just so sudden. One minute I was looking at her seething face. The next second, I was looking at the side, my eyes wide. This b*tch just slapped me! Oh hell no! I won’t allow such treatment! She has no right to do so to me! My eyes darkened and I saw her back away a little.
