Chapter 1~ First Day

9 Years Later...

I grabbed my new blue backpack, and stuffed it angrily. Why did Mom have to take cwre of stupid Gracie?! Why was Gracie the whole deal now?! And most of all... WHY DID I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL?!

I grumbled as I got into my father's car.
"I'm sure you'll be fine, Gem! You'll make tons of friends! Remember your old friend Sophia?" He chuckled, as I fumed in the backseat. I still hadn't forgotten. At all. Sophia was an awful, evil, hating person. And I would never forgive her.
But I wasn't going to talk. Instead, I fumed angrily in the backseat. Until we reached the school. And I saw the people there.
NO! THEYRE ALL GOING TO LAUGH AT ME, AGAIN! I CANT GO IN THERE! My mind was screaming, before I stepped out of the car. My backpack was dangling on one of my skinny arms. I let my shoulder-length hair fall loose and then stared around st the people around.

Cancer's POV
I was looking around, smiling at all my old classmates. Wait, who was that?!
I stared at the new girl. Huh, well that's no problem! I can make her my friend! I WILL MAKE HER MY FRIEND!
I got a little out of hand there. Oh, it's Sophia!
"Sophia! There's a new girl here, wanna come meet her with me?" I called out, waving my hand at her. Sophia had been my friend for the whole past two years, since seventh grade.
"Oh, why not? Sure!" She ran over to me smiling, and together we headed to the new girl.
The girl was glaring at us, more specifically Sophia, and when I turned to my good friend, she was shocked.

Sophia's POV
No WAY! It was Gemini! I had been meaning to talk to her forever now!
"GEMINI!" I exclaimed, stepping forward. "It's really you?! I havent seen you since pre--"
"The first day. I know. I remember it like it was yesterday." The girl's eyes burned with betrayal.
"Gemini, what's wrong?! Why are you mad at me?" The pain flashed through my eyes. Gemini had been her friend, what had I done?! Why was Gemini so mad?! I've never done anything to her, have I?!
"You LAUGHED at me!" Her words were raspy, as if she hadnt spoken in years. "You laughed when that fifth grader teased me about my backpack! AND you weren't wearing yours! We had planned it! You were gonna be pinkie pie and i was gonna be rainbow dash!"
What?! What's she talking about?! I was out sick on the first day of Kindergarten! SARA-- SARA!
"Gemini, I swear that wasn't me! It was my cousin! Sara!" I exclaimed, but Gemini had already turned away. At that moment, I made it my personal goal to fix old wrongs, and become friends with Gemini again.

Gemini's POV
I heard Sophia begin to talk, but turned away. I wouldn't be her friend again! She betrayed me! She laughed at me, and ignored our plans! The other girl seemed nice, but Sophia would never be my friend again. I pulled my book out of my bag, and put my MP3 player(with a hair thing attached to it) on my wrist, turning it on. Soon, I heard a bell through my music, stopped the music, and began to walk into the school, before hearing a fight.
"Cut it out!" I exclaimed, as I turned around to see. There was a girl who seemed to be around my age, being bullied by some right graders.
One of them was that fifth grader who had bullied me all those years ago. He turned around, and grinned evily.
"Oh, and what's little miss priss gonna do about it? Is she gonna hurt us with her little nails? That's adorable that she thinks she can, isn't it boys?"
At this point I had had it. Grabbing my book bag off my shoulder, I silently thanked my mom for making me carry a dictionary before slamming it into the first guy's gut. He whimpered like a baby. The other two ran, and I put my bag back onto my shoulder.
"You okay?" I asked the girl, putting out a hand to help her up.
"Yeah. I could've handled it on my own." When she looked up, I saw that she had brilliant blue eyes. "I'm Aquarius by the way. You are...?"
"Gemini. Glad I could have helped, regardless. Well, we should probably start heading towards our first classes. I have ELA first, you?"
"Same! I hope we get to sit next to each other!" Aquarius smiled, abd together we walked down the hall to ELA, happy to not be alone.
When we got there, we sat down in our seats and listened as our teacher called out our names. There were twelve of us in this class, which I thought was weird; especially considering that there were twelve classes per day as well. I didn't understand!
But the teaxher explained it all.
"Here at Zodiac Middle, we like to categorize classes with one of each zodiac symbol. These classes stay together all day, twelve students that are supposed to become great friends. They protect each other and stay together blah blah blah... oh here we are. There are twelve classes each day, and alternating days; in groups of five. Each day has one extra class added, the twelfth class for you guys. There are only ever thirty-six classed of twelve on any one specific day at a time, am I understood?"
"Yes Ma'am!" We all called, before she began to call out roll call.
My classmates were:
Aries, Taurus, me, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

Hey guys!
Well, this is awkward! The original Zodiacs have met! And Gemini has probably already made one reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally angry. Specifically Cancer.
Well, I hope she can remedize that! Plus, she already has a semi-friend!
And one mystery has begun to unravel......
