A/N: Hey guys! Sorry that I've not been updating-- end-of-year tests are up and they're taking all my time right now. Mostly cause I'm not getting quite enough classtime to finish up my 'homework' in school, and that builds up.
Here's a chapter to make up for it, and I'll try to update every other book this weekend. Just a heads-up ahead of time: No updates will be posted in July. I'll have little to no time to myself, and that which I do will be spent in a car. I have no phone, so... yeah. But I'll try to come back in August!
I'm really cranky right now.
Also, if you can find the cute reference and tell me what book it's referencing, you get a cameo of yourself or one of your characters in a future chapter!~Aldara (Formerly known as Gemini)
-GEMINI'S POV-
I was being teased. Again. Just because I wore yellow and black scarves every day didn't mean I was dumb-- what's wrong with having a little badger pride?! Anyways, this time they were telling me that I only used around 5% of my grape-sized brain.
Ugh. Let me back up and tell you how this came to be-- especially the part about me being alone at the time.Me and the other Zodiacs had been hanging out as usual, working on a project or two. Now this would be a normal day if it wasn't for a certain Scorpio having a cold. We told her and told her to go home and get some rest, but she wouldn't. Apparantly that was because most of her work on the projects was unfinished--
-SCORPIO'S POV-
IT'S TRUE!-GEMINI'S POV-
Scorpio, stop interjecting and writing in all caps. Anyways, Scorpio had a cold. I had to leave early to take care of my sister for a bit. The other Zodiacs stayed a few hours extra. Turns out, Scorpio had a special kind of sickness that only Scorpios can get. It's called poison fling-- for good reason! After I left, Scorpio had a bout of spitting poison uncontrollably.
Every Zodiac present(all of them except me) got hit with at least a little poison. Luckily it was slow-acting poison. Leo's mum called an ambulance and they were all sent to the hospital. Fortunately everyone was fine. Scorpio was treated for her poison fling immediantly (all she really needed was rest, AHEM).
Well anyways, on the day that I was being bullied they were out recovering. I was thrown into Sophia's class until they got back, but on the first day the boys in that class began teasing me. Gemini the gemini, Hufflepuff of the school. None of them knew the real me.
So I was being bullied again for being a Hufflepuff when Robbie showed up, and shooed the boys away. I was shocked. And then I saw the fear in his eyes, and growled. Mental shields shot up around me as I lashed out at him with my words, angrily.
"I could've handled them myself, you didn't need to butt in! Why're you here, anyways? Don't you have a sixth grader to be terrorizing? Because I'm sure as hell not them." I snarled, creating a few duplicate me's to amplify the sound. It made me even more threatening than I already am! So Robbie replied with a shocking answer, one that I puzzled for days over.
"Had to protect those boys from you. And those shields aren't necessary, little Gemini. I've seen your mind. And I don't want to return to it."
After saying that, he just walked off, back to his group. I released my duplicates right as the bell for the end of the school day rang, just in time to go visit my best friends with Sophia. We walked out of the school side by side, holding hands as we went to the hospital.
~
"And he seemed so afraid of me! I don't know what it could mean, such a bully being so afraid of me. Everyone knows that I'm just a normal Gemini, with normal Gemini powers. Duplication is like, the weakest one!" We were getting milkshakes to celebrate my fellow Zodiacs' release from the hospital. I was recounting the strange encounter to them in full detail, hoping one of them would understand more than I had.
They didn't.
But it did get out a few laughs, lifting our spirits. We got our milkshakes (Chocolate for everyone except Scorpio, who got strawberry, and Saggitarius, who's lactose intolerant and got a banana smoothie instead), and headed to my house. They wanted to see my lil sister, and we had a lot of catching up to do schoolwork-wise, so why not? My mum made us cookies (which were lactose-free) and we sat down to work, smiling and laughing as my cats came and interrupted us. Laser pointers were passed around. The entire night wasted away while we laughed and played, forgetting the troubles.
But I didn't let Robbie's comment from earlier out of my mind for the entire time. There was something off about it, and it worried me. A lot.
