Hello my lovelies! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've had such a busy summer and it's been crazy starting back at school. I'm going to try to start posting regularly again so look forward to more "Cold Hearted" :)
----------------------------------
Just a recap from the last chapter: Liv and Kyle are partners for a science project in Mr.Wakers Chem class. Before meeting up after class Liv stops at the bathroom and finds a crying Emeri who has just been dumped by Kyle. Rylan texts Liv and asks to meet her at the Taza. Then after confronting Kyle about the break up he then asks Liv out on a date. Meanwhile April is following her Ex Mason and the new girl he has been seen with to the fair.
That's all you need to know, enjoy <3
I grabbed the mini delux pizza leaving him with the meat-lovers and joined him at the counter. One thing was still bugging me. Pulling at my brain and whispering in my ear. Why me? He had Emeri St.James. Any guy would consider himself blessed to be so much as looked at by her. But Kyle was different. He was nice and he liked me, which hasn't exactly happened before. He's cute. Before I left we decided on seeing a movie for our first date.
"First? Why are you so confident there will be a second?"
He glared at me. "Because it's me."
I took the first bus going uptown. I am the only 17 year old in Minnesota without a drivers licence. Why? PRO-CRA-STIN-ATION. When I got on I was alone. Three stops later I was being crushed by an old man who keeps poking my shoulder to my right, a sweaty Sasquatch lady in front of me, and my left arm was being stabbed by the stroller of a 19 year old woman with no child...
When I walked inside I found Rylan at our booth. As soon as he heard the bells from the door his head spun. His face was bright and he was basically jumping up and down like a bunny on crack. He ran up to me and grabbed my shoulders.
"Hi have you seen Rylan?" His eyes didn't even move after hearing my awful humor. He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the back. My stomach turned. He looked me dead in the eyes. "Rylan what's going on?"
"A scout watched my last game. I've been drafted."
"Oh my god that's amazing!" I hugged him tight. A moment of comfort and nerves before it hit me. "Where."
A look of guilt replaced the glowing smile.
"Chicago."
*Thump* my heart landed at my feet.
*******
April called later that night wondering how the study date went. I explained the whole evening, minus Taza.
"So you two are dating now?"
"I don't know April, everything is SO mixed up and confusing."
"Why Kyle though?"
"He's kind, caring, generous... The way his hair falls... The way he smells... His eyes... Don't even get me started on his eyes..."
"Wow you really like him."
"Yeah... Rylan's perfect..."
"Rylan?"
"What?"
"You said Rylan." What just happened?
"I said Kyle."
"You like Rylan!"
" No I don't!" I lied down on my bed for support. "He's moving to Chicago anyways."
"Liv... I'm sorry."
"Why? I'm practically dating Kyle now. I like him," I guess. "he's a good guy."
"Whatever you say..."
"Don't tell Rylan yet. I will do it eventually."
Not that he would have a problem with it, but Rylan and I don't really date. I mean he always has girls all over him but hasn't had a relationship since his grade 4 girlfriend Emma Cross. They broke up when he found her holding hands with Luke Grey. Now they're the cutest couple in Deluth. It's kind of been the two of us for a while and I'm not completely sure I want it to change. April had a lot to say that night. She explained her adventure at the Winter Wonderland stalking, I mean 'watching' Mason on his hot date. The first hour was lame, they just walked around and talked. Later on however, as she explains, Sara tried to bite off his mouth and take it back to her mothership. April, noticing this evil chain of events, dives in between the two saving Mason and all of man kind.
...
Notice my sarcasm.
Poor April now lives in a house of embarrassment while Sara and Mason live happily every after.
The End.
"I hate you."
She loves me.
I dreaded Rylan moving but it might make things easier with Kyle. I mean, a boyfriend is the ultimate goal right?
Maybe I don't have to tell Rylan.
Wrong!
He's moving away soon anyways.
Stop!
Why does he need to know?
I hate myself.
In the words of Anna from Frozen, "Love is an open door." That bitch doesn't know what she's talking about. Love is a trap door where dreams go to die. Listen carefully. There are no happy endings in real life. I don't care if you've liked him since grade 6. If he doesn't like you he's not worth it. MOVE ON. You could probably do so much better. I wasn't as lucky. I didn't have a book to warn me. Not that I was exactly searching for my happy ending but I expected things to just magically work themselves out. Kyle and I were starting something, Rylan was moving away, April has no significance to anything but I love her name. It all seemed to fit.
"Hey loser." I jumped basically 5ft in the air and turned to see Calissa at my door.
"Why do you do that?"
"Talk?" I glared at her. "What's wrong kid?"
"Nothing."
"It's funny how you think you can lie to me. Plus I overheard your conversation with April..."
I never get any privacy in this house. What could I do to convince everyone I was fine? Great actually. Finally Calissa left my room and I pulled out my phone. I typed in Rylan's name into my contact search, then deleted the search and replaced it with Kyle.
"Hey." I sent him a message.
"Miss me already?" Obviously. Kyle and I continue to text back and forth discussing what movie to see. He suggested Finding Dory because he figured I would like it. He said all the other girls wanted to see it. Does he not know me at all? I laughed then replied with Starwars. I've been watching them with my dad since I was 5. My mom would try and get me to watch 16 candles and the Notebook with her but they were lame. I'd been dying to see the new Star wars movie. Kyle commented that I was the weirdest girl he has ever met. I know. We left it at that and decided on tomorrow after school.
If only I had known...
