Power Or Love (Loki Love Story)

Chapter 11

Loki laid there that night on the couch and watched the TV that Claudia spent the rest of the day showing him how to work it. He did though take breaks from it and read the bible. It seemed to have pleased Claudia so he did it anyway. He looked at the clock and saw it was three in the morning. He couldn't figure out why he couldn't stop thinking about that kiss. It kept replaying through his mind when he closed his eyes and opened them. He would find that he was smiling to himself. But then he quickly pushed it away.

He didn't know what the feeling was in his chest or stomach for that matter but it made him feel at home when he was around her. He was going to figure it out and figure out how to get rid of it. He looked at the clock again and decided it was time to just grin and bare it. He closed his eyes and the images of the passionate kiss they shared played in his mind.

Before he knew it he heard shuffling around he could tell it was time for Claudia to leave for the day to go to work. He sat up and watched her as she walked out of the door on the phone. He got up and watched her drive away. Not even a half an hour later Richard was at the door and answered it. It was time again to learn how to be independent.

"Hello Richard. What am I going to be learning today?"

"Well let me see the list." Loki took out the list and handed it to him. Richard examined it, "Well we have cut the grass, and we have cleaned the gutters and painted a room. So we still have to teach you to how to re-shingle a roof, how to fix a car, chop wood, change a light bulb, take out the garbage, getting a job will come later, oh and as of request for Claudia I have to teach you how to drive and how to balance a check book. But for today, we will re-shingle the roof, and change a light bulb and do the garbage."

"Alright sir let's get started." Loki said excited.

It didn't take long for Loki to change the light bulbs both at Claudia's house and Richards. He then even took out the garbage and learned how to do that. Way of life of a man is different than at home. Men were just the providers and warriors not laborers. But if I am to become adjusted and make it out on my own I must learn it all and adapt. It was about an hour later when both boys were up on Richards roof working on it. Richard showed him what to do and let him to do one side as Richard did the other.

After a half an hour of no talking Richard broke the silence. "So do you want to tell me why my daughter kissed you?"

"You saw that?" Loki said, thrown off.

"The whole thing. Now spill." He said demanding.

"Well I asked her about it later. From what she told me it was to save me from one girl named Janet."

After a pause, Richard spoke more to himself that to Loki but Loki heard, "So Janet is back." Richard shook his head.

"She is back? What do you mean sir?" Loki asked worried for Claudia.

"What all did Claudia tell you about her?" Richard asked.

"All she told me was that she and her went to school together and that she stole every guy that she had or wanted. She also described her personality. That's it sir."

Richard put down his stuff and looked out into the distance. Loki just looked at him. "Janet caused me so many problems growing up. Claudia and Janet were the best of friends. Always sleeping over each others houses and hanging out and things of that nature. Janet and Claudia soon took different paths. Janet began to get into bad things and began sleeping around. While my Claud went down a good path. So good she got recognition from all the teachers and staff and was soon getting every guy but she never noticed. Janet became jealous and started to do things to bring her down. So throughout the remainder of their school years Janet was horrible to Claudia. Always putting her down, coming onto her boyfriends. She tired to one up her on everything. She was heart broken that was her one true friend. Then I stopped hearing about her when they graduated because Janet moved away. Now I guess she is back and now its going to start again."
