Trapped in a mall, with a HOT guy... for FOUR days, over Xmas!?!
***Recap***
Psycho mystery person's POV
Yes I was right to turn back, but why did I have to leave? Why did I have to go look for him? I should have just stayed in the shop and waited for him to return then it would all have been over and I could move on, or at least try to. I doubt that I will ever move on but I would at least try for Sian's sake.
As if god answered my prays aloud "NO!" echoed throughout the mall. I had an idea of where it came from and gun in hand I started running up the stairs to the floor above with a big fucking grin on my face.
Chapter 16
Rachael's POV
I was running up the stairs, my hand still in Ash's and him following right behind me. Did he have the same feeling as me the feeling of danger? I hope not! I hope I'm just being paranoid. The answers came just as I had finished that last thought.
A couple of floors below us there was a loud BANG from a door being slammed open followed by heavy footsteps ascending the stairs.
My heart stopped, I felt like I was going to pee my pants, I was still moving but I couldn't feel the movement in my legs. We had both sped up but now Ash was in front of me pulling me along faster behind him.
I could hear heavy foots steps in the distance they seemed so loud when really it was only me blocking every other sound out apart from those footsteps.
My heart was racing and for the second time in 24 hours my head was screaming 'This is it! You're going to die!' Only this time so would Ash. My heart throbbed at that thought, Ash couldn't die I wouldn't let him. He should have killed me before when Ash wasn't around then Ash would have been safe.
We had reached the top floor, damn now we have to be careful not to go down a dead end and get stuck! That saying 'Life's a bitch and then you die' really is true.
The footsteps were still following, we had come to a hallway that had a dead end and all the shop shutters were down and padlocked. We're trapped! My mind screamed while my lungs started taking more and more air in until it began to hurt.
"This way," Ash whispered while turning towards another flight of stairs.
Running down the stairs my legs seemed to get heavier and heavier, I was running at full speed and it was catching up with me yet if we slowed down he would catch us. I had no choice, I would have to endure the pain or get Ash killed and this pain I was in now is nothing compared to the pain I would feel if I got him killed. Even though he said that the mentalist was actually after him and not me, but he has the power to out run him.
I could tell by the way he was dragging me that he could run a lot faster than this but he wasn't because he knew that I couldn't. Also he seemed to know his way around when I hadn't the faintest idea.
At this point I was pretty much worn out, though Ash wasn't nowhere near as effected as me though I think he noticed that I had reached my limit.
"Come on in here."
He pulled me into the shop that we found the outfits for Ash's posh party, the footsteps behind us wasn't as loud meaning he wasn't too close.
The shutter was already unlocked and pulled up. The door was also unlocked so all we had to do was run inside.
"Hide," Ash whispered in my ear as soon as we were inside. I was about to go to hide when he suddenly started pulling me. He pulled me past the checkouts and I noticed a rather big shelf that was hardly visible in the light.
