At EXO's Dorm...
"Hyung!" Lu Han looked up to see Chan Yeol bouncing towards him. He set down his book and looked over at his Dong Saeng.
"Yeah, Chan Yeol?" He asked rather tiredly. Chan Yeol always had never ending energy which Lu Han despised. But not enough to dislike him.
"There's going to be an academy formal! Can you believe it? Well, of course there's one every year, but this time it's going to be different! So Nyuh Shi Dae is going to be performing!" Chan Yeol squealed excitedly. Lu Han stared at him with blank eyes.
"Oh," he replied. "So Nyuh Shi Dae?" Lu Han didn't really like So Nyuh Shi Dae, but Baek Hyun and Chan Yeol were huge fans.
"Yeah~ they're so pretty~" Chan Yeol fanboyed, and Lu Han sighed as he picked up his book again. A Korean copy of War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.
"Hyung, how can you read that? It's so longgg," Chan Yeol looked at the book distastefully.
"It's a very good book," Lu Han replied. "This is my third time reading it." Chan Yeol rolled his eyes.
"I'll never understand you or Se Hun, hyung. You guys study way too much. At least try to have some fun. How about get a girlfriend?"
This question Lu Han has heard plenty of times. From his mother, friends, everyone. "Find a girl who has read this book and I'll consider her." This was probably highly unlikely. Lu Han turned back to his book. Chan Yeol was excited nonetheless.
"Seriously hyung? You'll consider it? REALLY?" he said cheerily.
"Maybe."
This then lead to Chan Yeol jumping up and running out of the dorm in a rush to find a woman who has read War and Peace.
The next day...
Chan Yeol came back with twenty girls. Lu Han was outside in the courtyard, his hair swept up cleanly as he leaned against a tree, legs stretched out as he sat in the grass reading his book.
"These girls all said they have read War and Peace," Chan Yeol piped up.
Lu Han looked up, and instantly all the girls giggled. He was insanely handsome, probably more handsome than any guy on the planet.
"Oh, really?" He said, his voice was soft yet hard, like ice cream cake. "What's the story about and who's the main character?"
All the girls murmured, for they had never read the book and only read fashion magazines. "Um, it's about the Korean War and the main character is... Leo Tolstoy?" One of the girls spoke up. Everyone else just nodded and agreed, not knowing the answer.
Lu Han looked at the crowd blankly. Then he stood up. He looked at the girls silently. "You may disperse now. That was incorrect. I don't like liars," he said coldly. The girls pouted but parted, and watched the man walk into the academy with a jumpy six foot two guy by his side. How would anyone be able to warm his heart?
As Lu Han entered the building, he saw a girl sitting by the fountain, reading a book. A closer examination showed that the book was, ironically, War and Peace. Lu Han walked over to the girl.
"Excuse me, but have you really read that book?" He asked. She looked up.
Lu Han was surprised. Of all girls, it was the Frozen Ulzzang. He had never encountered her before. She stared blankly into his eyes, and he saw beautiful, big eyes reflecting his own inner loneliness, loss, and sorrow. He knew he shouldn't expect an answer from her, but she did something unexpected. She nodded.
This girl wouldn't lie. "How many times, may I ask?" He continued. She just stared back at him with those eyes, and held up three fingers. Three times.
