"You're going to be late Rachel!"

I groan and roll over in bed. Today was Friday, the last day of the school week, and I felt like complete crap. Why can't my mother just understand that I want to sleep? And to be honest, I didn't really want to go back to school today. What if the mystery person left another note in my locker? It kind of scared me to think that somebody has been watching me secretly at school. I just really wanted to know who it was. The anticipation was killing me.

"Rachel this is the last time I'm telling you!" Mom screams.

I groan once again and roll out of bed. Why is it so hard getting out of bed in the morning? That was the hardest part of my day, trying to get out of bed.

When I finally get up, I walk downstairs and pour a bowl of Special K cereal. I eat it as slow as possible. Maybe if I was super late to school, mom wouldn't let me go, and I could just stay here and sleep all day. That sounded so perfect right now.

With that thought, mom walks into the kitchen, "Good, you're finally up!" She says all perky-like.

"Yeah," I say tiredly. This is going to be a long day.

After I finish eating my cereal, I slowly walk back up the stairs and get ready. I throw my hair up into a ponytail, brush my teeth, wash my face, then apply a little makeup. I go to my closet and choose a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie. I didn't really feel like dressing up today.

I throw on a pair of Toms, then grab my backpack and walk downstairs.

"You better hope you're not late young lady!" Mom says as we walk out the door. I roll my eyes, but don't say anything.

When I arrive at school, there's only 5 minutes until class starts, and I still have to go to my locker to gather my supplies. I run to my locker and get my stuff. All the hallways were practically empty. I check the time on my phone and notice I only have 2 minutes. I run towards the stairs and quickly climb them. If I'm tardy, mom is literally going to kill me.

I run down the hall and finally approach the classroom door. I quietly open it and walk in. As I'm walking to my seat, everybody looks at me like I've just committed a murder or something.

I try to ignore them and sit down in my seat just as the tardy bell rings. I sigh with relief and pull out my notebook.

"Are you okay?" A girl sitting beside me asks. I nod my head slightly before taking a deep breath. I guess I didn't realize how out of breath I was from rushing around the halls and sprinting up the stairs.

She giggles, "You look like you just ran a marathon."

"I think I did," I whisper back, trying not to disturb the rest of the class.

She laughs just as Mr. Darcy stands up in front of the class, "Get out your books and turn to page 305." I grab a history book from under the desk and open it up, turning to page 305.

"We're going to be working on vocab today. There's 25 words, so I suggest you get to working on them right away. Hand them in when you're done," He sits back down at his desk and gets on his computer again.

I start working on vocab, just as a boy burst through the door. Of course it's Niall. He's always late.

"Mr. Horan, I suggest you start getting to school a bit earlier so you can make it to class on time. This is your 7th tardy this year. 1 more and you will have to be suspended," Mr. Darcy states as Niall rolls his eyes and takes his seat behind me.

He punches me in the shoulder, "Sup, butthead?"

"Stop calling me that," I snap back.

"Whatever butthead."
