Two Years Later

Family

Jace tiptoed out of their bedroom and quietly closed the door. After Clary had stopped throwing up they laid together in bed until she fell asleep, now Jace had to go find Mackenzie. It had been almost an hour and who knew what type of trouble she could be getting into. He walked down the hall of their small family home, a three bedroom two bathroom one story house, when he got to Mackenzie's room he peeked in and saw her sitting in her rocking chair and talking with her teddy.

he knocked on the door frame and walked in."What are you two talking about?"

"Demons" she pulled the bear closer to her then

"Oh? What about them?"

Mackenzie hesitated but continued "The demons are coming and Teddy is sad because he won't be able to protect me."

Jace was shocked by this. "No demons are coming baby, your mom marked this whole house up with protection runes. We're safe." Macks still looked worried and it was breaking his heart "You know what we can do?" He said taking out his stele and reaching for her bear, she gave it up reluctantly. Jace drew a rune right on it's tummy and handed it back. "There, now Teddy will be able to protect you" She seemed happy with this and got up to give him a hug which he gladly received. Just then Clary walked in the room

"Woah, why wasn't I invited to this hug fest?"

"Because" Jace replied "You're SUPPOSED to be resting"

Clary waved away his concern "I feel fine now, I don't know what was wrong with me but I guess I slept it off"

Jace open his arm for Clary come and hug the two on the floor. She took the gesture and wrapped her arms around both of them and kissed Macks' head.

"We're so lame" she laughed

"We really are" Jace said shaking his head and smiling

Mackenzie chimed in with a "yeah" and they all started laughing as they sat on the floor in the little girls room.
