Pronounced Dead Ch4
Everything was in flames, the ceiling and the floor. The curtain that covered her was flickering with flames. The heat made Nelly sweat; she raised her body as much as she could, the cast in her side made her body stiff. Nelly heard sobs and screams echoing in the room. Beside her was an old woman, around 70 who was her roommate. The sight Nelly saw she would never forget, the woman was yelling in pain, half her body was consumed in flames the part that was saved was covered in red angry blisters.
Nelly swung her legs over the bed and tried to walk over to help. She fell almost facing the flames with her face. She took in a deep breath, nearly suffocating by all the smoke in the room. She could still hear the screams echoing around her, in the room as well as in her head. She was weak but she fought through everything. Barefoot she could feel the heat from the floor burning the soles of her feet.
She used her arms to guide her careful not to touch the metal longer than necessary to prevent any burns. Once she reached the woman, her heart fell.
It was too late.
All she could see was the remaining shell of what the woman had once been.
Nelly couldn't control it, she erupted into sobs.
She was worthless; she couldn't help the lady...
Hadn't stopped Vlad...
Deep inside she knew she had let this happen. She looked at the flames searing her face.
Today she wasn't going to give up.

"9-1-1 state your emergency", the operators voice rung in the still air.
"The hospital, It's- It's on fire", a voice replied.
"We have your location. Can you please state your name."
"No need, you just have to get here."
"Sir or Ma'm can I please have your name?"
"NO NEED! GET HERE!!"
The phone the figure was holding, was thrown into a nearby trashcan. No way to identify who it belonged to, just forgotten. The figure turned to see smoke, thick and grey puffing above one of the buildings.
Everything was going as planned.

Nelly was fighting for her life, she held on to anything she could. Her side still hurt making it harder for her to move. She ducked remembering all those fire safety drills she had when she was a kid. Her knees felt weak, her lungs were begging for air. Using her hospital gown, she covered her mouth and nose.
Nelly could see the exit, she thanked god that she had been assigned to a room not far from it. She ran to the exit not caring about anything just the sight of the outside.
The walls were set in flames the ceiling burning along with it.
Nelly reached the door, pushing the door to open it. It wouldn't budge. She kept on pushing the door with no success. She lost consciousness, breathing in too much toxic fumes.

Storm was holding Nelly in his arms stroking her hair. She seems so fragile and innocent. She shouldn't have let herself, she was weak and unfortunate. Nelly was the only key Storm had that would lead him to Vlad. She needed him as much as he needed her.
