15| Getting to Know Them
Maya
I was going shopping and to meet Shehry's fiancee but I didn't have any clothes to change; what I was wearing must be Saru's dress, a plain red kameez shalwar which was definitely too tacky by now and I must be stinking at the moment. Maha was really generous to allow me around her in her room.
I can't wear this. Not again. I looked down at my self and started to think a way out when something popped up: I quickly opened Maha's wardrobe and started to search for something that could fit me the most but alas! She was too young and so were her clothes and I was too big for them....
Tch! Kia museebat hea? kia karoon ub! At least I should wash them before wearing again.
I looked around unable to find any solution. 8 baj ra hea, Paandu Ram chala gaya ho ga ub tak to.
A little uncertain I wrapped one of Maha's duppatta around my shoulders and stepped out, arrrgh!!! It was cold.
"Shehry?" I knocked over his door.
"One sec!" he replied instantly and I waited there. "han aa jao" he added a few seconds later and I pushed the door, hesitant enough I peeked inside Shehry was tucking the buttons of his shirt. He looked at me and smiled. "Good morning" and then turned his attention towards the iron stand.
I smiled back. "Morning!"
"Give me half hour and I will be ready, tum bhi tab tak change.... Oh!" he stopped in his sentence as he realized what would I change into?!
"Yeah! That is why I came, ummm can I have a uh- I mean...
"You want something?" he frowned a little and I mentally punched him in face. Or kia lag raha hea tumhen?
"Can I have your shirt?" I quickly blurted out before it could get anymore awkward and for a moment he went quiet and looked at the shirt he was wearing with a dumb expression.
"Itni bhi achi nai hea yar" he smiled idiotically and I shook my head quickly. "no I mean any shirt, any other I meant" I said. "Wo actually I want to wash this dress so it'll be worth wearing again. Is k ilawa kuch hai nai pehen k jane ko" I explained and he smiled nodding as if he had already got my meaning just pulling my leg.
"Wardrobe. Le lo" he pointed casually towards his cupboard and once again started pressing his shirt. I hesitantly looked in the direction before I stepped forward, opened the cupboard and took out the first t shirt my gaze caught sight of.
Hurriedly shutting it back I almost threw a thanks towards him and marched out of his room.
Running back to Maha's, I quickly took out a fresh pair of trousers from her wardrobe, I knew they will be too fitted on me but for the time being atkaa to loon gi he
I took off my dress; a few areas of the fabric had turned stiff out of dirt and sweat. Looking down at myself I realized I was wearing the same under-dress for last three days? Eeeiewww disgusting! I looked up in the mirror, I had lost weight. God! I looked like a total mess.
Sighing away the thoughts I washed my dress, rinsed it thoroughly and hung it over the towel ring, then washed my under-dress and hung them behind the door before I could bathe myself.
