Jimin's pov.
-
"Press five."
"Okay."
I sigh as I lean up against the elevator's wall. I look over at dead boy and he's pressing all the buttons.
"Hey! Stop, Yoongi!"
"You told me to press five so I did"
"No I told you to press the number 5 not the first five numbers!"
"Whoops"
I sigh and lean in to press the number five on the buttons. I watch as Yoongi stares at the numbers before he looks at the closing door.
"Oh!"
He grabs onto the railings as the elevator starts moving. His eyes are clenched shut and he looks tense.
"Are you okay?"
"W-What's happening?"
"We're okay, the elevator is just going up."
He nods and gulps. I try not to chuckle at the sight but of course I failed. Worse I giggled.
"You think this is funny blondi- ah!"
"We're here!"
I smile and walk past his distressed face and down the hall. I can hear the flip flops hit the floor behind me.
"Blondie?"
"Yes?"
"What are those?"
I pull out my keys of the door knob and push the door open. I swing them in front of his face.
"Keys, they open doors."
He looks past me with wide eyes and walks past me. He looks around the my apartment astonished. It's cute, like when a new born baby first opens their eyes.
"You live here?"
"Nothing fancy, but yeah I do. Follow me so you can take a shower."
He nods and I point to the bathroom. I already put clothes and towels for him. I follow him in and set the water as he looks around.
"Cold or warm?"
"The rain is cold so I'm use to cold."
I set the water temperature to warm and leave him. He waves at me as I walk away. As I leave him to cleanse himself I decide to check up on my younger brother. I find him in his room as I had the last time I intruded his space. I knock on the door to which he doesn't give me permission to enter. Regardless, I come in and sit on the edge of his bed. His head is covered by the blanket, but the sniffles of cries are audible. He acknowledges my presence by uncovering only his eyes. I play with his hair as another tear slips from his eye.
"I miss mom."
"I know, I do too but Kookie it's been two weeks do-"
"Two weeks isn't enough Hyung!"
He hides back under the covers. It wasn't enough, no time would ever be enough to fully heal that wound. Our mother was gone, but time moves on. I walk back to his door, this time letting him know he returns to schools tomorrow whether he likes it or not. We live in a time where we can't pause our lives to mourn much longer. It was time to attempt normality as best as possible, and that started with him returning to school.
"But Hyu-"
"But nothing Kookie, you've been gone for too long. Also there's someone who will be staying with us for awhile."
"Who?"
"That'll be me."
I look towards the door and see Yoongi in Jungkook's plain white shirt. His hair was dripping water and wetting his shirt. I hadn't noticed how good looking he actually is.
"Who are?"
"Min Yoongi, I'm about two years dead and I don't like to move much."
"You're dead?"
"He's joking"
I close the door and lean against it. I look up and notice just how close Yoongi is. If he could breathe I would probably be feeling it on my skin.
"Why did you tell the boy I was joking when you know very well I'm not?"
I can feel my cheeks, more like my face getting red at how close he was. He scoffs and moves back. I watch as he sits down, instantly getting back up as he hears a hiss.
"Oh my god!"
I break out into a fit of giggles as I see my cat hiss at Yoongi.
"Don't worry it's not like he'll kill you."
Dead boy falls back on the couch and sticks his tongue out at my cat. I go and pick up Sniffles and sit down with him on my lap.
"So um can I ask you a question?"
I look at him curiously, he looks up from the pillow in his hand and nods.
"How did you die?"
He stays quiet for a second and shrugs.
"I don't know."
"Then why don't we find out?"
