Her father was driving rather slowly, but Alice was monitoring every turn they took with nervousness. She would look at other cars with fright in her eyes and then tell her dad to slow down since "she needed to pee". She was constantly trying to keep them alone on the road and as soon as every car passed, she would get back in the car with the words:

"Okay, let's go. But SLOWLY".

"Alice, if we continue riding like this we'll get there just in time for New Year. And it's the fifteenth of March. Don't worry so much, I didn't get my license just by telling my driving teacher to give me one, I studied hard for it".

"Yeah, baby girl. Daddy is a responsible driver".  Alice looked down.

"Sorry. I'm just... worried".

"No reason to be, little one". They were passing some kind of village now but as Alice started to recognize it's features she felt her heart start to beat faster.

They were driving very slowly now. About twenty kilometers per hour. Alice felt cold sweat roll down her back as they were going past a house. The house.

There she was. Berta was standing at the stairs, something very red visible on her right cheek. Right in front of her stood a man with unusually big eyeballs, the one that had a crooked smile. The black dog was on his shoulder again, but with the other hand he was waving to Alice.

Berta was holding Patrick's body upside down. She was smiling as she started to approach the gate and wave her father to stop the car and he did.

"DAD, NO!", Alice screamed as she noticed the naked woman a few feet away from their car, her mouth wide open as if she were about to swallow them up. Her eyes were a pair of two dark holes.

"DAD! GO! NOW!"

"Let's just help this kind woman, she seems to be needing help".

"DADDY DON'T YOU SEE THE DEAD BOY IN HER ARMS? DON'T YOU SEE THE WOMAN BEHIND US?!" Tears were pouring down her face as she was screaming.

"Alice, calm-"

"DRIVE! NOW!", she screamed and her father obeyed, her mother looking back at her, terrified.

Alice just kept looking straight out, her eyes on the road.

She decided to simply run away. And never look back.
