(A/N at the end)

One of mankind's greatest abilities is the power to lie. Whether its for good or bad, profit or survival, we bend the truth. It's the skill we pick up early and hone over time, pulling the wool over the eyes of our parents, our teachers, our boss, even ourselves. It’s a horrible habit that makes us the stuff of nightmares.

“This goes way more deeper than it seems Sam. Its nothing to worry about. All we need to focus on what that hell happened in there.” Mason said as he pointed in the direction of the huge house.

I sigh Sitting down on the nearest log.

“Alyssa is best friend since second grade, we’re practically sisters. I haven't talked to her since I left home and I decided to call her today and when I did she didn't answer the phone.” I explain trying to keep all my anger down that was now pushing inch by inch back to the surface.

“So… you're mad because she didn't answer?” Jason asked confused.

I look up with sarcastic eyes. “Oh yeah thats also why I almost ripped your fucking head off 10 minutes ago!” I screamed at him as I stood up. I needed to shift and run. My wolf, she wanted to run free. I wasn't even thinking before I felt my bones begin to bend and break into size. It was so painful before but now. It stills hurts but now me blending with my inner wolf masked that pain. I jumped and landed on all fours in front of them. Ripping the grass under my huge paws before taking off in the opposite direction. Fast.

It felt so good too feel the wind through my hair again. She missed this. Running free, going wherever she wanted. It felt normal, if that was even possible?

~ This is how it should be sam. But you need to go back to them and help Alyssa.~ Even though steam was coming outta my ears with anger she was right.

~Yeah I know~ She replied unexpectedly. I smile to myself and keep running.

What sets us humans apart from a monster aide from genetics? Aside from the terrible truth? We grow hair all over our body and shift into a strangely huge wolf when we please, and have a non-normal strong ability to love someone. I thought this was supposed to be easy. With running miles without a break, an amazing sense of smell and strength like you would never believe! Can you believe that just a mere 2% of a lycans genetics are different from a normal human? Amazing how we’ve the human race has come too.

After a very long relieving run I made my way back to the clearing where I freaked out again and high tailed it out of there like such an over emotional girl.

I was beyond surprised when I entered the clearing Mason and Jason were sitting in front of a fire talking quietly to each other. Mason must of smelled me because he jumped up and looked in my direction. I could feel him and Jason trying too talk too me through mindlink.

~Are you ok?~ Jason asked quickly before Mason could. There was a slight growl coming from Mason. Jason turned and growled back a little.

~Yeah… sorry I freaked. It just.. this is all new too me. The whole morphing into a wolf deal.~ I reply sitting down and resting my muzzle on my paws. I feel like a real bitch for doing all the things I have done to him.

~Its ok here’s some clothes. You can change behind those trees over there.~ He pointed to a the set of trees as he threw me the duffle bag. I made my way too the trees and shifted back, feeling my bones break and reform. I could tell that my wolf wasn't pleased about being shut off again but at least she was happier than before. More relaxed but still on edge.

I come back with shorts and a sweatshirt on. It was odd wearing shorts and not being a bit cold. I could even see my breath even! But no shivers, no goosebumps from the cold chill of winter setting in. All of that gone and I love it! Mason was sitting alone with his head on the palms of his hands looking at the ground. I sit next to him and and lean against him.
