"Seriously, Crissa you don't have to come if-" Hannah begins, "No. I'm going." I say quickly, cutting her off as I flip through a magazine aimlessly.
"Do you wanna carpool?" She asks just as 'Gia,' chimes in. "Oh, I need a ride, you know my dad's not letting me get the car for a month- since that whole accident." She says before shaking her head as if she was truly bothered, "Hate that old man." She mumbles under her breath.
Hanna nudges Gia hard in the ribs and I look up from my magazine, uninterested but just in time to see Gia cringe.
"Goodness, Hannah? What was that for." She cries out in pain.
"Be.Happy.Your.Dad's.Alive.Gia." Hanna whispers out through tight lips.
these two were my best friends and about as no discreet as it gets.
I close my magazine and pop the gum that's in my mouth before grabbing up my bag, "Yea. what time are you picking me up?" I Ask, standing from our seat at our acclaimed table in 'Barge's,' a local food place where most the population of this town gravitated to.
We each put down two dollars in tips before walking for the door. "Have a nice day, girls." The waiter who knew us only by our loud laughs and Sunday morning breakfast's hear. "Bye." "Goodbye." "See yah." we all said aloud at the same time.
we walked to our separate cars, Hanna stayed at my side because we had parked in the next row over from Gia. "Bye, Gee!" Hanna waves, I wave her off as well. The natural morning winds of Silverwood were something you'd have to get use to, they were fast and strong and could easily knock you off your feet.
"Listen, Cee." Hanna begins.
She and only she, called everyone by the first initial of their first names. It was just Hannah's thing.
"You can talk to me." She nods, putting her hand on my shoulder as we stop right at my car door. I nod, though everything she had just began saying- went in one ear and straight out the other.
"Honestly, don't come just to make an appearance." Hannah says. "Hanna. I'm not. I'm going because I actually want to have some fun. Goodness, do you want me to mourn the rest of my life away." I say, a little defensive.
"You havn't mourned at all, though." Hanna says, calmly.
I roll my eyes, "Trust me. I have. and I'm over, my mom's over it, everyone seems to be over it. BUT YOU." I say, my eye brows raising. Hannah holds her small hands up in surrender, "Fine then, Cee. I won't bring it up. I'll be by at 8." Hannah says before walking around to the car that was parked right next to mine.
She hopped in her drivers seat and I hopped in mine. She honked twice as she pulled out of the parking spot and then was off down the lot.
Honestly, I'd give anything to just stay at 'Barge's" all day. I'd eat and flip through this magazine, and I wouldn't think about anything but the new shades of lipstick that 'Madeline,' had coming out.
But, that's unreal. I really did need to make an appearance tonight to show, I was same old Crissa. That, what happened- didn't phase me. That I shouldn't be treated like an outcast. So, yes. I needed to make an appearance.

When I pulled into the driveway of my house, that familiar brown car was parked right in front of me. I turned off my car before sighing.
When I walked into my house, My mother and Detective Alton sat on the couch. She cried in her hands and he sat across from her in one of the lazy boy chairs. "Janis-" The detective begins. "Mom?" I say, dropping my bag on the small circular table that sat next to the door. All that ever sat on it was a vase that Belinda - the house maid- changed every month.
