This could go for just having a crush or loving someone. Everyone is different so what I'm about to say may not apply to you. One way you know you like someone in my opinion is when you see them with someone else, especially of the opposite gender, you wish that you were in that position. Another way could be that you find yourself always wanting to talk to them, or to ask them out somewhere. Then if you know you feel something for them then you will feel it. If you can think of them or look at them in person or in pictures and feel nothing, most likely you don't have feelings. But for me when the person I have feelings for now (by the way, I am a girl, username is a code name) when I look at him, I get this feeling in my chest, feeling of happiness, knowing that I want to go up to him and hug him or hold his hand or something like that. So if you have feelings for someone, and you are allowed to date, and you think they might like you, then ask them out, they might say yes. You never know until you try.
