I have been sitting in these cell for days now, it feel like years. I haven’t heard from Vanessa since i been in here, I’starting to worry she wont come and get me but she promised. They charged me with Child abuse and endangerment because Terrainna told them she was pregnant. I cant believe this shit, im so mad and scared but i’m more mad than anything. I can’t wait till i get out, i’m gone kill that bitch. I haven’t been sleeping that much, all through the night I hear people screaming and moaning all night and that shit is annoying.
Now that I really think about, ever since I started messing with Vanessa my life has been filled with drama left and right. I honestly don’t know how much I can take. I do love her but, I just can’t keep getting into everything just because she doesn’t know how to control her hoes. I have to sit down and talk to her about this, maybe we just better off friends.
“Cell Mate 27563“ the guard called out. I looked at my number and it was me. I hurried to gate.
“I’m I free to leave?” I asked hyped up, smiling.
“No you have court this morning” he said and my smile turned into a frown. Damn, I could have sworn I was a free women. He opened the gate and put the cuffs on me closing the gate back. We walked this long dark, cold hallway. When i came in here, all the cell mates was up and screaming to me all types of names, but today it was quite, i guess they was still sleep. We walked all the way outside to the car, so we could drive to the court room. It took us about a half and hour to get there. They took me out and we walked in the building. my heart was beating fast and i was sweating, I hope and pray I get out of this one. It’s not like it wasn’t my fault anyway.
I walked in the court room and saw Vanessa, Stephanie, Quentin, Kaylyn, even Quetta and Trina. On the other side I saw Terrainna. She looked a hot ass mess with that black eye, busted lip, and rachet ass weave. I smirked at her and she smirked back, like she knew something that I didn’t. I’m gone leave it up to God, it’s in his hands now, I thought to myself as I sat at the table.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see it was Kaylyn, she smiled at me messaging my shoulders, Vanessa should be doing this.
“Everything will be okay” she whispered in my ear and I nodded as a few tears escaped my eyes. Then my lawyer walked in which, I shouldn’t be surprised it was Bria. I looked at Vanessa and she gave me a little smile, then Stephanie sat by her and waved, I smiled at her too. I wonder since I been in here have they been messing around. I know she said that was her best friend but I know Vanessa and I’m sure they have been sexing. Don’t get me wrong Stephanie is a cool, laid back person, every since she helped me fight, but I just think that she wanted this to happen to me just to get close to Vanessa, maybe I’m tripping. I mean com eon she came here out of no where and now all of sudden she pops up out the blue, something anit smelling right.
“How you feeling this morning Skylar” Bria said knocking me out my thoughts
“Could be better” I said not looking at her.
“Well Hopefully we can get you home today” she said as she took out her papers from her briefcase.
“Do you really think they gone let me free?” I asked and she stopped what she was doing and sitting next to me.
“To be honest I really don’t think they gone let you off the hook with the charges that they have against you but once they see that you got jumped and was trying to defend yourself then they might give you a few months to a year” she explained
“Just Great” I said sarcastic
“Be luck that you just got that, most cases people serve up to more than a year” she said and I nodded. She’s right I need to be greatful and think positive about this, shit they may not give me a sentence. I put a smile on my face and stood up as the judge came in, everyone had to rise.
“Please rise for the honorable Judge Koval” the guard announced. “You may now be seated” he added as the judge sat down.
Let this case begin.
AFTER COURT
“Reviewing this case, I have come to a conclusion. Skylar Johnson, I herby sentence you 6 months in prison. But reviewing the tapes over and over I herby sentence.......Terrianna Roberson to 3monthsin prison” he said and was about to bang his thing but Terrianna spoke up.
“That’s not right. Once you saw the tapes she attacked me first, while I’m with child” she said all dramatic holding her stomach.
“Look Mrs. Roberson, any women with child would have tried to avoid this situation and walk away. You provoked Mrs. Johnson to physical put her hands on you. I would have gave you a year but since you are with child I will cut you some slack, so you either take it or get more time...Your choice” he said
“She will take the 3 months judge” Terrianna lawyer said and Terrianna looked at her like she wanted to punch her in the face, will that’s what she get. I’m a little mad they gave me time but i”m more happy they gave her some time too.
They let us talk with our loved ones for a little bit before they took us off, Terrianna didn’t have nobody, I kind of felt bad for her but she the one who got us in this mess in the first place. I turn to face them, i could see they were a little upset about me serving time.
“You hang in there girl” Kaylyn said hugging me
“Be strong girl” Harland and Q said patting me back.
“You don’t deserve this, keep ya head up” Stephanie said hugging me and I nodded. Trina just nodded her head at me and didn’t say nothing, I don’t know what that meant but okay then. Then I got to Vanessa, and i felt the tears coming.
“I’m sorry you had to go through with this, it’s all my fault” she started and i shook my head
“Don’t blame yourself Vanessa. Thanks for being here for the support” I said. I felt like I wanted to say something else but I couldn’t find the words.
“Look Skylar, You know I love you and I’m here for you but I feel like this is not gone work between us. I mean I’m still gone be here for you and everything but we both know since we got together it’s been nothing but drama and you don’t deserve that” she explained and she made me realize that these were the words I wanted to say but I couldn’t.
“You don’t have to explain Vanessa, i feel the same way. I still and will always love you but this is not our time” i said and she nodded. We looked at each other and then she leaned in to give me one last kiss.
“I love you Skylar” she choked out
“I love you too Vanessa” I said and they took me away. I felt a tear roll down my face.
Time to face reality.
