Alicia's POV
The club's bass throbbed in my ears, the music a dizzying haze. Kaitlin and I were far past tipsy, our laughter echoing off the crowded room. David and Ben, surprisingly, had only nursed a few beers. I stumbled away from our booth, needing a moment to myself, leaving them in a blur of neon lights and raucous conversation.
A hand gripped mine, pulling me away from the bar. I assumed it was David, a familiar touch, and I followed, my vision slightly blurred. He led me into a back room, the music fading into a dull thrum. We started kissing, a sloppy, unfocused exchange. But something felt wrong. The touch wasn't right, the kiss too forceful. As my vision cleared, a wave of nausea washed over me. It wasn't David. It was Loui Tomlinson. My ex.
Panic seized me. He was unzipping my dress, his hand sliding up my thigh, the touch repulsive. I tried to push him away, my voice a choked whisper, tears stinging my eyes. 'Get off me,' I pleaded, my voice trembling. But the music drowned out my cries, and the room seemed to spin.
He forced a kiss on me, his lips bruising mine. I felt dizzy, disoriented, my body numb with fear. I screamed, but no one heard. I was trapped, alone, and terrified."
David's POV
Desperate to find Alicia, I turned to Ben. 'Have you seen her?' I asked, my voice laced with concern. My eyes landed on him and Kaitlin, locked in a passionate embrace. 'Hey!' I snapped, interrupting them. 'What?' Kaitlin asked, her voice slightly breathless. 'Have you seen Alicia?' I repeated, my anxiety growing. 'No,' she replied, her and Ben both now looking worried.
They quickly joined my search, the three of us scouring the crowded club. 'I thought you were with her,' Kaitlin said, her voice laced with confusion, 'that you took her to one of the back rooms.' 'No!' I replied, my fear escalating. Something was wrong.
I rushed towards the back rooms, my heart pounding in my chest. A faint sound, a mix of crying and muffled screams, reached my ears. I flung open a door, and the scene before me froze my blood. Alicia was huddled on the floor, her dress torn, her body trembling. A man loomed over her. It was her ex.
Rage, raw and blinding, consumed me. I lunged at him, my fist connecting with his jaw. He crumpled to the ground, unconscious. I didn't stop there, kicking him until he was still. Alicia sat there, broken and shattered, her sobs echoing in the small room. I went to her, my own tears blurring my vision.
I held her close, her body shaking against mine. I gently wiped away her tears, my touch tender and reassuring. When I looked into her eyes, I saw nothing but pain and devastation. A ghost of a smile flickered across her lips, but it was quickly extinguished by a wave of fresh tears. I held her tighter, my heart aching for her. Then I kissed her, a soft, comforting kiss meant to convey support not passion."
Kaitlin's POV
Ben and I rushed towards the private booths, the urgency in his movements mirroring my own. We found Alicia in one of the secluded alcoves. My breath hitched. She was crying, her body shaking, and David was holding her close, his face etched with concern. My gaze shifted to the floor. Loui, her ex, lay sprawled there, unconscious, his face a grotesque mask of bruises. 'What happened?' I asked, my voice barely a whisper, the horror of the scene sinking in.
Alicia didn't answer, her sobs the only sound in the dimly lit booth. I could only wrap my arms around her, offering what little comfort I could. The air was thick with unspoken dread.
I turned to Ben and David, my eyes conveying the gravity of the situation. 'We need to leave,' I said, my voice firm. 'Now.' The sight of Loui, battered and broken, was a liability. We couldn't risk staying. They nodded, understanding the urgency. We needed to get Alicia out of there, away from the scene, away from him. We hurried out of the club, the weight of what had happened pressing down on us.
