Kaitlin's POV

We exited the club, the pulsing bass fading into the night air, leaving a heavy silence in its wake. Alicia was a fragile, trembling thing, her sobs now quiet, suppressed. David held her close, his touch gentle, his face a mask of controlled anger. I tried to reach her, to offer some semblance of comfort, but she only clung to me, her whisper a broken promise: 'We'll talk at the hotel.'

I turned to Ben and David, my voice weary. 'We need to go back.' Ben's face fell, a shadow of disappointment crossing his features. It was my 21st, a night meant for celebration, for revelry, and he loved a good drink. David, though, was a whirlwind of restless energy, pacing back and forth, his hands covering his face, his frustration palpable.

'We don't have to go,' Alicia said, her voice barely a breath, a desperate attempt to salvage the night. 'We can finish celebrating at the hotel.' David stopped pacing, his eyes locking onto Alicia's. A ghost of a smile touched his lips, a silent promise of support. Alicia returned the smile, a weak, watery attempt, her eyes still brimming with unshed tears.

Ben, however, wore an unnerving grin, a stark contrast to the somber mood. I couldn't decipher its meaning, but it sent a shiver down my spine. And then, there were his presents. Two of them. What could they be? The curiosity gnawed at me, a sharp, insistent ache in the midst of the emotional turmoil.

Alicia's POV

We piled into the car, the silence thick with unspoken emotions. The drive back to the hotel was a blur, the city lights streaking past the windows, mirroring the chaotic thoughts swirling in my head. (Fifteen minutes later) We reached the hotel, the grand lobby a stark contrast to the darkness we'd just left. I reached for David's hand, my fingers intertwining with his. He looked down at me, his brown eyes warm and reassuring, and I found myself lost in their depths. A soft smile played on his lips, and I mirrored his expression, a silent acknowledgment of the connection between us. We kissed, a slow, tender exchange that felt like a lifeline in the midst of the emotional storm. In that moment, surrounded by the quiet hum of the hotel, I was acutely aware of the preciousness of our bond, the comfort of having him, and Alicia, by my side.

We retreated to our room, the plush carpet muffling our footsteps. A quick change of clothes, a shedding of the night's tension, and we descended to the hotel bar, seeking a semblance of normalcy. (An hour later) The clock struck ten, and the bar buzzed with a mix of laughter and hushed conversations. Kaitlin and Ben, fueled by a potent cocktail of alcohol and lingering adrenaline, were boisterous and carefree. David and I, though equally intoxicated, were drawn into a quieter intimacy, our laughter punctuated by soft touches and lingering glances. But the night was wearing thin, and the shadows of the earlier events still lingered. We decided to retreat to David's room, seeking solace and a moment of quiet reflection.

Kaitlin's POV

The bar area was a blur of bodies and flashing lights, but Alicia and David were nowhere to be seen. I assumed they'd found their way to the dance floor, lost in the rhythm. Ben and I, however, decided to retreat to my room, seeking a more private celebration. As the elevator doors slid shut, Ben's warm breath tickled my ear. 'Ready for your surprise?' he whispered, a playful glint in his eyes. My own eyes sparkled with a mixture of anticipation and the lingering effects of the alcohol.

(Five minutes later) Back in my room, the atmosphere shifted, the air thick with unspoken desires. We fell into a heated make out session, our hands exploring, our bodies pressed close. Then, I felt the cool slide of the zipper as Ben slowly unzipped my dress. We paused, our eyes locking, a silent conversation passing between us. A shared smile, a whispered, 'Ready for your surprise?' from Ben, and a breathless, 'Yes,' from me.
