Sarah woke up to the sound of laughter. She got up off the couch and looks at the kitchen. Blueberry was cooking with the professor. The cat was mixing a bowl of cake mix and flicked some on the professor. The cat laughed and kept mixing. The man threw an egg at the cat. Blueberry and the professor laughed in unison. Sarah sat at the counter and coughs to gain their attention. The two look back. Blueberry gave a smile. The man fixes himself and says "Yeah, well. Let's get back to work on the cake. You can help if you want, Sarah." Sarah, Blueberry, and the professor continued working on the cake. When they popped it into the oven a phone rings. "Hello? Hmm.... I'll be there in a second." The man hangs up the phone. He looked at Blueberry with a familiar worried face. "Aww man! I was hoping we could play." Blueberry sighed, the man says "I can't today. I must continue my research." The professor leaves the house. Blueberry gave a long huff. He walks over to the couch and sits. His tail and ears drooping. Sarah knew the cat was sad. A knock came from the front door. Sarah gets up to answer it. A human stood at the door. He had white hair and yellow eyes. He was dark skinned, wore a yellow jacket, blue jeans, and white grey shoes. Another boy stood next to him. The other one was strange. He was small like Blueberry and had eyes just like the cat's. The strange boy wore a red sweater, navy blue jeans, and brown boots.
"Hello there female Demi. My name is Tommy and my master's name is Trevor. We knocked on your door to ask a for some shelter. We are tired and low on supplies. May we at least come in?" The strange child said, Sarah thought it suspicious that he said what the professor also said. "Sorry about my android. He has some defects to work out. I was hoping that you were interested in having this robot. I no longer need this hunk of junk and ask that you take it out of my arms." Trevor said, Sarah thought something was up. "Trevor! Why are you flicking... my... off switch-" The boy shut down and fell onto the floor. Trevor tossed the legal contract at Sarah. Sarah looked at it. The contract read that whomever held this was given full rights to do whatever they need with this android. When Sarah looked back at the door, there was no sign of Trevor. Blueberry used his purple eye to pick up the metal boy and placed him on the counter. The cat jumps off the couch and onto a stool. "Sarah. Bring me a wrench." He sighed, Sarah brings him one. He used his power to pick up the wrench without his paws. He pulled up the androids shirt to reveal an access point in the back. Blueberry loosened the bolts and opens the boy's metal sheet. It revealed a broken circuit and missing data card. He fixed the circuitry and placed a new data card in. He then tightened the bolts back in place. Blueberry flips the switch.
"....processing..... Connecting new data card..... Oh! Hello there kitty. Talk to me, I can translate your language so your master can understand." Tommy offers, Blueberry denied "No thank you. I speak the same words my master speaks." Tommy nodded. "So I'm guessing Trevor gave you my contract. I'm yours until you send me to the next 'unlucky' guy." Tommy gave a sob. "I thought robots didn't have emotions?" Sarah asked, Tommy answered "They don't... WE androids can do everything a human can do, but different." The boy gave a sigh of relief. He got off the counter and looked at Sarah. "What is my first task, master?" He asked, she answered "First, don't call me master. My name is Sarah. Second, you will decide what to do. You are a friend, not a slave. Third, is your name truly Tommy?" The android responded "So master wants to be known by name and I should act as a solo unit rather than my original purposes. Fine! I shall keep that in my database. Oh, my true name is H-series #10! Tommy is the name Trevor gave me. It's a... well... I hate the name. Please change it. Tommy sounds like a boring, common name." Sarah gave some thought. She tapped her fingers on a table. "I think you should find a name for yourself. Find one you'll like." Sarah said, the android closed his eyes and thinks. "Hmm... Zane. A fitting name for me." He beeped, the android gave a smile.
"Zane, my name is Blueberry. By the way, you act more like a robot rather than an android. If you want to act more human then stop taking orders. Give favors or ask for some favors yourself. I read humans do that." Blueberry spoke, Zane nodded in agreement. The small boy opens the oven and pulls out the cake. "Doesn't that hurt?" Sarah asked gesturing at Zane's hand, he answered "No. My hands are oven operational. These fingers don't burn so easily. This cake is ready for master... I mean, Sarah and Blueberry to decorate." Sarah and Blueberry smiled. The two start decorating. Zane told them that he was going outside. He walks out the door. Zane goes around town for a while. He greeted some neighbors and established each resident's name, job, and family. Someone needed help getting their cat down a tree. Zane stretched his arms and grabbed the cat. "Thank you!" The lady replied, Zane gave a smile and gave her the kitten. He continued his walk. The android was outside for two hours before returning to Sarah. When he entered the house the professor stood waiting. "Hello. I'm the creator of Blueberry. As long as you don't hurt him, you will be on my good side." He greeted, Zane said "I completely comprehend sir. May I have your name?" The professor thought a bit. "Fine, it's Dave." He huffed, the android smiled and says "Thank you, Dave. I hope you and I will be great friends." The professor laughed.
