Chapter 7- Road to death

The next day! Blueberry had awoken. A strange being stood in the corner of his room. "Hahaha! Don't you miss me.... Blueberry?" A voice spoke, the figure moved forward. It crawled onto the floor and ran up the wall next to the door. It was a shadow of a cat. "It's me, Cory!" The shadow spoke, red eyes appear on the shadow. "What do you want?" Blueberry hissed, Cory chuckled "At first, I wanted to use you. Instead, I'll abuse you. Everyone you care for! Sarah! Zane! Dave! I'll make sure you'll never have a happy ending! Hahaha!" The shadow dashed under the door. Blueberry jumped out of bed and chased it. He followed it. The shadow kept crawling on the floor. They reach the health center. Cory crawled into a floor panel. Blueberry blasted the floor with fire. It was a secret passage into a secret lab. "Master Dave must have installed this lab." The cat says, he jumped down and walked deeper. Blueberry felt a chill going down his neck. When he found Cory he lifted his paw to attack. Nothing happened. "Hahaha! You can't use your powers down here! I've enchanted this place! Only demons have other worldly powers!" Cory laughed maniacally, the cat worried. "I noticed in the professor's file that you, my friend, have no soul. Which means when you die... there is no coming back! You could fight, but I know how to stop that..." Cory exclaimed, he points behind Blueberry. Sarah, Zane, Ray, Dave, Raspberry, and Caroline were in incubators.

One incubator opened. Sarah fell out and Blueberry ran to her. Cory quickly crawls next to the girl. "To stop you.... I must use your family!" Cory shrieked in insanity as he entered Sarah's body. Sarah got up. "I, Cory, will win! The spell in this room will keep you from breaking those incubators! Killing me is your only shot.... or if you die, then you'll never see anything! There's no afterlife for you!" He spoke from Sarah's voice. Sarah pulled out her knife. She began to attack. Blueberry kept moving and dodging her swipes. Zane broke out of his cage and used his shield to block the knife. Cory exits Sarah's body as a demon. His horns and wings were huge. "Sarah, my vessel! Kill your boyfriend!" Cory demanded as he punched Zane. The android freed the others. Cory saw them escaping the lab. He went to chase after them. Blueberry was left alone with Sarah holding up her knife. "Sarah! We don't need to do this! We can go back to being ourselves." Sarah just attacks as if he never said anything. "Please Sarah! I love you!" Blueberry cried, Sarah placed her hands on her head. "Stay away, please." She murmured, Sarah ran away from him. Blueberry scurried behind her. She reaches a dead end in the lab. She turned around to find herself cornered. "Don't come any closer. I hate you! I never loved you!" She says lying to him, Blueberry came closer. She swung her knife. Blueberry jumped back, but he had an idea.

"Sarah! Please... remember me..." The cat cried, Blueberry extends a paw. Sarah was pinned in a corner and held a knife close to her. "This isn't you... I know that you're better and nicer than this!" He said, as the cat inches over the girl moves. She cuts his paw and the cat pulled back in pain. "Please... Sarah..." He cried as he extends another paw, Sarah's eyes moved side to side quickly. She slashes him again on the other paw. The young cat was crying. He was losing a bunch of blood from the deep wounds. "Sarah... I.. I...want... my f-friend back......" He quotes weakly. Blueberry extends his arms and looks at Sarah for a hug. He knew how much Sarah loved to hug him for being cute. "S-stand back! Get away from me!" She screamed angrily, the cat was not looking for 'no' as an answer. He inches closer until Sarah was in front of him. Blueberry hugged her weakly. "Stay away..." she screamed, tears appeared in her eyes. Sarah's hand started shaking. She lifts the knife over her head, ready to take action. She throws it away from her and covers her eyes. Tears streaming from her face to the floor. She looks at the cat hugging her. "Blueberry... I'm sorry" she says, the cat let's go and starts to black out. Blueberry was losing blood and grew weaker. He gives a smile and thinks over the adventure he had. "Don't worry... it wasn't your fault." He sighed, Sarah picks him up and ran out of the lab. She went into a room in the health center.

Placing Blueberry on a bed, Sarah saw him slowly dying. "Please, Blueberry! We are free from that cursed lab. Use your eyes on yourself!" She cries, he replies "I can't feel my paws. I... feel cold." The cat breathes heavily. There was no blankets around. Sarah pulled off her orange sweater, she had a tank top on. She wrapped his paws up with some bandages. Sarah covers him with her sweater. "Hang in there! Don't you dare close those eyes!" She cried while holding his paw, Blueberry cried "Dave isn't here and... I don't have a soul! My heart... it's f-f-failing........" Blueberry was flat lining. Sarah used a machine to show his insides. His heart was missing. In fact, he had a man made heart. One that pumped his blood around and cleansed it. It was gone. Sarah knew what had to be done. She used her souls on him. She made Evil into a heart. It entered Blueberry as his new heart. The cat was breathing again, but he wasn't responding. Sarah gave him a soul. Good entered his body. Sarah was slowly fading away. Blueberry woke up and saw Sarah fading away. "Sarah! I can help!" Blueberry cried, he tried turning his eye into a different color. Nothing happened. "I'm sorry, Blue... but you had powers because you didn't have a soul. You got one now because it was the only way to keep you alive." Sarah said, Blueberry rejected the new heart and soul and sent it back to her. He gave her a kiss and hugs her. "At least I'll die on something I love." He said.

Blueberry died in her arms. Sarah stopped fading away. She held his body close to her. She put her sweater on again and walked outside. Cory saw the cat dead in her arms. "Well done my puppet! Now to finish the rest!" The demon screams, all of Sarah's friends were injured in town square. The girl jumps onto his back and climbed until she reached his shoulder. Sarah pulled out a knife and stabs the neck. "By controlling me, you gained a soul of your own! ME! When my two souls die so will you!" She screamed, the demon instinctively stabs her chest. Sarah fell off the demon with Blueberry still in her arms. Cory screamed in anger. A gate appeared next to him. It opened and showed a fiery place filled with darkness. "No! I won't go back! I'll try again and win, I promise." Cory screamed as many arms pull him in. The gate closed and disappears. Zane and Dave run up to Sarah. "Oh... It's okay. I might be dying, but I might see him in the afterlife. Burry us next to each other. So even if he isn't where I'm going, at least we will eternally be next to each other. Oh, here's the contract Zane." She cries, Sarah closes her eyes and went limp. Zane's eyes cried oil. That day the whole town was at the cemetery. The town cries, two heroes of their little land died for them. Sarah and Blueberry's bodies were placed into their graves. The headstones reading their names and what they had done for the town. Across the graveyard was a lake with an island on it.

A man in the black hooded robe stood on the island. Two others with halos on their heads sat next to him. Blueberry and Sarah. "On to the next world." He spoke, Sarah gave a confused look. "What do you mean?" She asked, the man answered "You were both given a second chance. Blueberry will finally have a soul and you will now have one soul. Souls are a way to give it's vessel a second chance. This is not one of those chances. The master decided that the two of you will be resurrected, but in a different world. We can't have all of Vexun question how you came back. I have the most perfect world for you to help. For now we await the other heroes to join us." Blueberry stretched his body and yawned. The cat asks "Other heroes? Are they from other worlds?" The robed man says "Of course. You're not the only planet here. One planet that the heroes live on is a world called Terisdin. A famous planet known to have anthropomorphic animals. Kinda like Blueberry. Another two use to live on earth but, their location is unknown. Once all the heroes die for their worlds, then we can move on to save the universe." The man opened up a portal. Blueberry and Sarah enter it. They were in a white room, literally everything was white. The sofa, the TV, the kitchen, the beds, and much more. "So we live here until the whole team is here, right?" Blueberry questions, the robed man states "Yes! So just relax and stay in each other's company. Your new friends are arriving soon."
