1 year later

"Lani!"

Lani whirled around at her name being called, scanning the busy airport. Her eyes landed on two freakishly tall boys, waving their hands in the air.

She raced over to them, dragging her large suitcase behind her.

"Michael!" She squealed. Lani abandoned her suitcase and jumped onto him, wrapping her arms around him.

He let out a grunt and took a couple of steps back, but managed to stay upright. Michael chuckled and hugged Lani back before setting her back down on the floor.

"Watch out, Lani, Michael hasn't been hitting the gym as much as I have."

Lani turned to see Calum flexing his bare bicep. She rolled her eyes and wrapped him up in an equally large hug.

"You're such an idiot," she scoffed, her voice muffled by his chest.

He laughed and gave her a little squeeze before releasing her.

The three of them, along with Dave, made their way out of the airport, pulling up hoods and slipping on sunglasses.

Michael pulled Lani's suitcase, laughing at the story Lani was telling them about the sleezy old man she sat next to on the flight.

"It's not funny, Michael!" She whacked his arm playfully.

"Yeah, Michael, it's not funny," Calum said, looking over Lani's head at his friend. The two boys' eyes met and they burst out laughing, clutching their stomachs.

"You're both such assholes!" Lani alternated between beating her fists on each boy. She couldn't help but let out a few giggles of her own.

"OK, OK, we're sorry," Calum wheezed, holding his hands up in mock surrender.

The quartet reached their car, where a driver was waiting for them.

"Yeah, we're sorry that you got hit on by some eighty year old," Michael added as he popped the trunk and dumped the suitcase inside.

Him and Cal cracked up again. Lani rolled her eyes and climbed into the back seat of the car.

A few moments later, Michael and Calum joined her in the back.

The ride was filled with Lani explaining what she had been up to since the boys had last seen her a few months ago.

5SOS was on their second world tour and were just bringing it to a close. After the breakup last year, Calum and Lani spent some time apart. It was difficult at first, seeing as they had all the same friends and both lived in the same city. But soon they were able to put away their past and become friends again. Now, Lani was joining the boys on tour for their North America leg. Lani had always loved travelling on the bus with the boys and Calum knew this, so he invited her along.

That brings them here. In the car and driving over to the hotel the boys were staying at.

"Is it true that it rains spiders in Australia?" Lani asked suddenly, breaking the silence. She had read about it on the plane and who else would be better to answer it than some Aussie boys.

"Oh, yeah. Terrible time of year. Supposed to happen right about now, actually," Calum said seriously.

Lani's jaw dropped as she turned to look at Michael and Calum, who were watching her with guarded expressions. "You're kidding."

"Nope. All kinds of spiders come floating on the wind and fall all over you. You have to carry an umbrella and everything," Michael said, raising his pierced eyebrow at her.
