Laa shay'a waqi'un moutlaq bale kouloun moumkine.

                                            -Altair Ibn La'Ahad

Darkness shrouded me as I stood in the shadows. You'd think pure white robes would be more conspicuous in the dark, but no one gave me a second glance. My target flew past me, a little slower in his age. I leapt onto the roofs for a stealthy and silent tail. I watched as one of the Apprentices killed Sentential before he could catch up. His short time in Istanbul had already take effect on training.

Something yanked me back--hard. I almost slid off the other side of the roof. I didn't fight because I knew another Assassin had me. The almost inaudible snick of a hidden blade caught my attention.

"Wait, wait!  Nulla è vero, tutto è permesso! Sono un Assassino come te!" He gave me a confused look, so I switched to Turkish. "Ben sizin gibi bir Assassin!" he lowered his arm.

"Why are you here girl?" I took a deep, shuddering breath. I had followed my target for three years without confronting him. This was my chance.

"I don't know. I came from Italy. Firenze." the man laughed.

"Floransa? Ezio, seninle tanışmak istiyorum." he laughed again and got off of me. I sprang up, my cowl falling back from my head in the process. The man's eyes widened.

"What have you found, Harim?" An Italian voice asked from behind Harim.

"The devil." muttered Harim. he turned to face the Italian. My target. "A woman Assassin from Floransa, like you, Mentor." Ezio nodded.

"I will take her to the Galata den. Keep to your post, Harim. You. Venire." he pointed to me.

"Yes Mentor." Harim said before we left. I followed Ezio, as Harim had called him.

"What brings you to Konstantiniyye...?"

"Capricia." His stride faltered for one-tenth of a second. I pretended not to notice. "That depends, Mentor. What brings you here?" The one eye I could see through Ezio's cowl distanced as he thought.

"Thr truth. And answers. Many answers." I stepped out in front of him and stopped. He froze, confused.

"Mentor, there is one truth that I know. One that I had looked for, and found." He eyed me warily.

"What is this truth you speak of?" I brushed the cowl from his head so that I could see his face. His eyes watched my every move warily, as if I were to attack him.

"Mentor, tu sei il mio padre." his eyes widened.

"Come?"

"My mother was Adalina. You two had a short relationship."

"The merchants daughter."

""

"How did you find me? I was with Adalina two months at most."

"She told me about you. She knew that she was just a short fling, and that you would move onto another woman in a different city, but she gave you her heart. I believe to this day that you still hold it. She accepted me, knowing as she watched you sail away that big things were coming."

"As I said, Capricia, two months. That is not that long."

"But you stayed in Venezia longer than that. And she never told you because she knew you needed the life of an Assassin more than ever and didn't want to hinder you with a family." He frowned.

"Where is Adalina now?" I laughed bitterly.

"Dead. After a little stint where the Venezia autorità  tried to eliminate all of your ties there. Of course, Templars were behind it."

"Did they kill anyone else?"

"Sì. Mio sorelle e il fratello di mezzo."

"What about your step father?"

"Basterdo was out drinking again. Died later that year."

"What killed him?" I pulled my wrist back, a cool, lethal blade sliding from my wrist.

"I did."

I'm back! Finals were this week, and I passed the first half of 9th grade. Woo! I'm sorry for being gone so long, but with swimming and school, I didn't have enough time. And the whole copyright thing. Oh and for all you music people out there, check out Hands Held High by Linkin Park. Good song about what's going on today. Anywho, I'll try to get this finished and up within the next week or two. I like Assassin's Creed. Good games, good books, good development. For those of you who played it, this takes place in Revelations. I kinda put my own twist on it. It's all in canon though. Don't forget to vote please! One little bitty click! And for those who live in southeast Pennsylvania, pray for snow!

Peace off! (I took that from tobuscus. Check him out on YouTube, he's funny!)

p.s. I know the video on the side is about Altair, but it's a good song, good video, and Altair was my favorite character. I may put a short story of him up after TMD.
