'...but I can't help falling in love with you.'

Tyler strums the last C Chord of his ukulele and take a bow in the small Starbucks that didn't really appreciate Tyler's sudden decision to disturb their pumpkin spice latte time for a ukulele medley in the middle of the room.

'WHOOO THATS MY UKULELE BOY!' I screamed and clapped loudly when no one else would do the honours. Tyler returns my praise with a cheeky grin and approaches the table Brendon and I were sitting on, Beebs still slow clapping in the now silent Starbucks, probably too busy glaring at Tyler's ukulele.

'Ahem, Tyler?' I whisper in his ear, 'Would like me to smack these guys with your ukulele because I would happily do so.' Staring back at the glares.

'Nah it's okay they'll get their ukulele karma,' he says, stashing it in his cute lil ukulele case that said 'take this ukulele and face the wrath of Jish the Don (pls don't take thank you)' on it, 'so how is everyone?'

Tyler and I have gotten closer ever since Josh and I started dating and we were currently hanging out in Starbucks, alongside Beebo, because he felt the need to be 'caffeinated' at 8 pm, causing him to drag us two hours away from the college to a coffee store.

'Well I was doing just fine before you dragged me here so I could listen to you play the ukulele and watch you drink coffee alone because I'm currently broke as fuck,' I say, shaking my head.

'Yeah yeah, anyway, did you hear there's a new girl?'

'Yeah, heard her name was Derby or something,' Brendon says, looking up from his phone (probably sexting Sarah or something).

'Yeah, Debby Ryan. Patty said that apparently she was in a Disney show as a kid,' I shrugged, I turn to look at Tyler who has now put his coffee cup down and stared at the floor.

'Ty? Do you know her?' I ask, questioning his sudden mood change.

'Well, I guess you could say something like that. But listen, you should really ask Josh about her.' he says, scratching the back of his head.

'Josh? Why Josh?' I ask, confused.

'He'll tell you,' Tyler says, giving me a small smile.

My stomach twisted with a queasy feeling and I suddenly wasn't concerned about how I was broke and couldn't drink coffee in a coffee shop anymore.

The next day, I was skateboarding with Josh to school again from our apartment complex and decided to subtly confront him about what was making me anxious the night before.

'Hey, so Josh...' I begin, kicking up my skateboard under my arm and walking instead.

'Mmhm,' Josh hums, doing circles around me before racing ahead.

'Do you know that new girl? Debby?' I notice how he immediately slows down and decides to walk next to me, interlocking his hand into mine, the other occupied by his skateboard.

'No, why?' he says calmly, without a hint of hesitation.

'No reason, just asking,' I say, the anxiety in my stomach growing thicker with the fact that he lied to me.
