Chapter three: He's bad news

I felt a growl grow in my chest. How dare he? Walk into my life smelling so, so god damn delicious. My jaw clenched as I scanned the room for some other, any other, place to sit only to find that the chosen seat for me was the only one left. "Valentine? Are you going to sit by Mr. Cullen?" Mr. Greggory asked, leaning on his desk towards me. "Yeah, gimme a sec. Sir." I added quickly. The anger in my voice shown like polished medal. I walked down the isle towards the boy, quite angrily.

On the outside I was calm, On the inside I was snarling and growling. The wolf inside, desperate to claw its way out. I glared at him, He glared back.

It was at that moment, for a split second our eyes made contact. I realized he wasn't human. The topaz eyes said it all, not to mention the unnatural paleness, the beauty. He was a vampire.

I reluctantly sat beside him, I scooched as far away from him with out falling off the chair as I could. I had learned in my 17 years, despite my father being one, and me being half. Vampires were bad news. He glanced at me, his eyes were darker, I guess he was hungry too. Great, a hybrid that's hungry and a vampire that's hungry too, this day couldn't get better, could it?

I tried to focus on the class but his smell was intoxicating, it was making me even more hungry. Every now and then he would glance at me, I don't understand why though. I clenched my fists through the entire class, a clear sign of my anger and frustration. He either was completely clueless or he was blind, but he kept glancing at me, he once opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it when I glared at him.

Finally the bell rang, I jumped out of my seat with an unhuman grace and speed walked out. I didn't notice till I was out of the room that I was the first one up and out of my seat and had left the room all in one go. I made my way to gym, I'm pretty sure I had that with Bella but I wasn't sure. I walked into the spacious area, girls and boys were already there, talking. Bella was indeed there, she was about to head into the locker room. I jogged over to her.

" Hey, Bella." I said nicely. " Oh, Hi Valentine." she replied , turned her head around slightly. We changed quickly, our outfits were pretty simple. Basketball shorts with a tank top or a t-shirt. Fortunately we didn't have to do anything on the first day, so yay for Bella and I. I was good at Gym but I didn't really enjoy it. Something to do with the fact that I often hit the ball to hard and it breaks.

Once Gym was done we changed back into our normal clothes, Bella was gonna go home but I had other plans. " You sure you don't want a ride home?" she asked with her door again half opened. "Yeah, I'm just gonna take a run, I'll be back before dinner." I wasn't lying, I was gonna go running, hunting means running, get it?

Other people wears all kinds of clothes for running, sneakers, shirts. I can run in anything, I ran in heels and a tight dress once. I smiled as I inhaled, catching the scent of a deer near by. I kept running though, I was to close to town. I think I'm gonna go up by the parks, There's not really any people up there.

I bounced on my toes for a couple seconds while I inhaled, again catching the scent of a buck. I grinned, my fangs showing. I started running, throwing in a couple grows to get the poor animal to run. Other wise, it would be dead before it even blinked, I was that fast. Plus I liked the taste of fear. Beastly, I know. In a split second the buck was on the ground, I had broken its neck. I dragged the death runs out, the actual death, I made that extremely quick. See I wasn't quite that beastly. After draining it, I ate the heart. I was content, almost sleepy. It had been a long time since I had eaten a whole meal. Being the Omega in a pack meant I ate last with little to no food. I ate what the pack gave me.

I stood up to head home when I heard a twig snap. quickly I breathed in to try and catch a scent. But there was nothing. I looked over my shoulder but there was nothing either.

I ran home, I don't know why, but I was pissed. I growled, it must be that Honey blond boy. I felt something rise in my chest and I swung my hand to the left, grabbing onto a tree, I tore angrily at it. I came here to get a fresh start. Not to see a honey blonde boy and a coven of vampires. Not to almost lose control at a school. Not to be in the middle of a forest destroying a tree. I stopped, the tree was about to fall over.

Panting, I let lose a small shock wave. The sound of it falling over was loud. Loud because it took down probably two others tree with it. Guess the shockwave wasn't so small.

Three minutes later I was at Charlie's house, I heard Him and Bella talking in the kitchen. I looked down at myself, I was covered in sweat and dirt. I glanced at myself in a puddle, my dull gold eyes were bright, I didn't have a any blood on me. I was a neat killer and eater.

I'm such a beast.

I walked into the white house, fake panting. I had to look tired, they thought I had gone for a run. Charlie glanced up when I walked in. " Hey Valentine, enjoy your run?" H e asked directly. I nodded and grabbed a cup to get some water. Bella stared at me. "You said you were going for a short run." she gaped. "I did, short runs for me are four to five miles. I'll clean the floor." I said as I sipped my water, I had tracked in some dirt.

" Anyways, what were you saying about the Cullen's, Dad?" Bella said, leaning across the table. I tightened my grip on my cup. "Oh yeah. well there father is the head doctor in the hospital. Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Then there's his wife, Esme Cullen, and theres the six kids. Rosalie, Alice, Emmet, Jasper, William, and Edward." he informed her or us. I thought back to the Cafeteria. One of Bella's friends said what there names were, I think Emmet was the big one. Rosalie was the Blonde girl, Alice was the little pixie, William was the other big one, Edward was the bronze haired one and I think the honey blond one was Jasper.

Jasper is a cute name, blond guys are pretty cute too. He looked kinda ripped as well. And did you see him during history? He answered every question correctly, so he's smart too! He's like the whole package.

No. I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind. I will not date him because he's hot!

I quickly swept up the dirt after putting my dish in the sink. I was about to go up the stairs when Charlie spoke up. " Val? You didn't eat dinner. Your going to bed now?" I turned my head to the side and mumbled " I'm just gonna go to bed, I'm tired." I laid in my bed for hours, I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes his filled my mind.
