The wind swiftly brushed past Cynder. She closed her eyes for a few seconds then opened them. She loved feeling the wind brush through her wings. The reason why was probably because she was a wind dragon after all.
She ducked her head to look behind her. She saw Spyro behind him, looking around at the surroundings. He then looked her way and caught her emerald gaze with his own purple gaze. He gave her a loving smile, and she gave him one back.
She lifted her head back up to look where she was going. She was following a river. She glided down low so she was flying just above the water. She bent her wing down a little so the tip of it touched the water. She stayed like that for a few seconds then lifted her wing back up. It was cold, relaxing and a whole bunch more. She heard a little splash behind her and turned to see Spyro tipping his wing tip into the water too.
She giggled a little. Spyro looked up at her and gave her a playful smile. She just giggled back. She loved going on flights with Spyro. He was the only dragon in the world that she loved doing anything with. She had never met anyone like him before. And her heart danced every time she saw him. What would I do without you Spyro...
"Cynder look where you're going!" Spyro suddenly gasped. Cynder spun her head round to see they were coming up close with a waterfall. With a powerful flap of her wings she gestured herself to fly up. As she flew up she could feel the water droplets splashing her feet as she flew up in front of the water fall. She reached the top and her tail tip splashed through the water as she flew high up in the sky. If Spyro didn't warn her when he did she would have gone crashing right into the waterfall. But luckily she had just missed it.
As she flew high up she spun around so that her back was facing the ground while she looked straight up at the clouds. The sun suddenly appeared behind one of the clouds. It's dazzling gleam shone right at Cynder's eyes. She had to close them from the blinding piercing light. Suddenly it went dark. She opened them back up to see Spyro flying above her, blocking out the Suns gaze. He gave her a wink and she smiled at him.
She spun herself around and flew off down the river with Spyro just behind her. Cynder slowed down a little. She flicked her tail as a signal for Spyro to take the lead. He then flew right past her and she sped up to keep up with him.
She liked this. When it was just them two. No one could separate them. No one...
Suddenly, a dark shadow loomed over them. Cynder looked up to see a dragon, slightly bigger than the both of them, pass ahead of them. The dragon flew forward, flicking its long tail to signal Cynder and Spyro to follow. Cynder was resistant at first, not sure if they should. But Spyro had made up his mind and led the both of them towards the stranger.
As the dragon flew ahead of them both, Cynder could now make out its appearance. It was a dragoness. She had blue scales with a silver underbelly. From where Cynder was flying behind, she could just make out two silver horns on her head. And just beneath those horns were... Were they gills? Cynder could only think of one dragon with gills. They were water dragons. This dragoness must be a water dragon! She also noticed that she had webbed feet. Only water dragons had that as well. It was official. They have just met a water dragon. Not many of them about.
The dragoness lowered down towards the ground. She landed graciously next to the river. Folding her wings to herself, she turned around and watched as Spyro and Cynder landed in front of her.
Before Cynder could say anything, Spyro beat her to it.
"You signalled us. What is your name?"The blue dragoness looked at both of them. She was just slightly taller than them. Spyro and Cynder wasn't fully grown yet. This dragoness was obviously older than both of them.
As she examined both of the dragons, her blue gaze laid on Cynder longer than it did on Spyro. The way she looked at her creeped Cynder out a bit. Cynder felt like saying something, but thought better of it. The dragoness then looked at Spyro and (finally) spoke,
"My name is Coral."
