Dean took Gabriel to the pet shop that Cas worked at.

Gabe was happily bouncing around in his seat, anxiously waiting for them to get there.

When Dean parked the car, Gabe immediately jumped out and went inside. Dean rolled his eyes and smiled, then followed him in.

Cas heard the bell to the store ring and looked up. He smiled when he saw Dean and Gabe come in. "Hey guys!"

"Hey Cas! Hey... Bird on Cas' shoulder!" Gabe smiled.

"This is Rufus. Say hello, Rufus."

Rufus squawked before saying, "Hello."

Dean smiled at the bird. "Dude, that's so cool!"

Rufus squawked again before flying off Cas' shoulder and onto Dean's.

"He likes you!" Cas said with a chuckle. He looked at Gabe a smiled. "Let me guess, your here for the ferret?"

"Yes!" Gabe squealed happily.

Cas laughed again and walked out from behind the counter. He walked over to a cage the held the ferrets.

Dean and Gabe followed him and looked into the cage.

"They're all cute." Dean said as he looked at the three.

Gabe nodded. "Buuuut, the white one is the cutest."

The ferret looked up at them and moved closer to the cage walls. He stuck his little nose through and Gabe's heart melted.

"I want it. I need it."

Cas smiled and opened the cage. He reached in with one arm and the ferret scurried up his arm and to his shoulder.

"Yeah, you're coming home with us." Gabe smiled at it. "Boy or girl?"

"Boy."

Gabe nodded. Dean had a small smirk on his face.

"I don't know Gabe... I think I kinda like Rufus a bit more."

The bitch face that Gabe gave Dean, made him AND Cas step back.

"I was just kidding..."

"You better fuckin be."

Cas almost popped a lung. He was trying so hard not to laugh. "W-Well, you gotta get some stuff for him." He walked over to the different foods and picked up and bag of ferret food.

"Cas?" Dean called to him from across the store.

"Yes Dean?"

"Can you tell us more about ferrets? And this one?"

Cas nodded. "Well, this is an Albino Ferret. Hence the red eyes and white fur. He's about a year old. He's also nicer than the others because he is more comfortable with humans than those are. Ferrets in general are curious and smart. So, don't be surprised if you find him under something. They're also really playful. They do this thing that people call 'happy weasel war dance' where they literally just dance."

If the heart eyes emoji was a real thing, I'm sure that Gabe's face would have turned into it by now.

"Oh, and keep his nails cut. If they get too long, he could break a toe."

Gabe and Dean nodded. With the help of Cas, the finished picking up the things that they needed.

"What are you naming him?" Cas asked before they left. He lifted his hand to Dean's shoulder and Rufus, knowing what it meant, went into Cas' hand.

Gabe looked at the ferret in his arms. "Candy!"

"Candy?" Dean and Cas asked at the same time.

Gabe nodded and smiled. "Candy."

"Name him after something you love." Cas said with a chuckle.

"If that was the case, he should have name him after me." Dean looked at Cas and smirked.

"I would if I loved you." Gabe smiled innocently at Dean, then turned to Cas. "Thanks for everything Cassie."

"Yeah, thanks Cas."

"No problem." Cas smiled at them both.

Gabe, Dean, and Candy left the store, got into the car, and headed home.

Candy was already curiously looking around the car. He pressed his little nose to the window and looked out.

Gabe smiled at him, then looked at Dean. "Thank you so much, Dean."

Dean flashed him a smile and looked back at the road. "You're welcome, Gabe."

"I love you, Dean."

"I love you too, Gabe."
