The bell suddenly rang for the end of school and I found myself walking to the park, shaking with nerves.
I had no idea what I was going to say to Calum, I didn't even know if he'd be there.
When I got to the park, I could see Calum sitting under a tree. The sun shone in the cloudless sky, the trees- a brilliant green.
I slowly walked over to him, and said his name.
He looked up at me, emotionless.
"Dude... I am so, so so sorry... I didn't mean to shout at you, I really didn't. I'd just had a bad day and-"
"You decided to take it out on me?" He said bluntly.
He was standing now, his voice touched with anger, his eyes dark.
"No! I-" I started.
"I'm just your sidekick, your punching bag. You don't care about me, I'm just there to make you look good, because to you, I'm just a fool." He snarled angrily.
"Calum, you've got it all wrong! I'd never do that-" I protested helplessly.
"Oh sure, Mr 'I'm Fletcher Collins and I'm so cool and I'm gay', sure I've got it all wrong."
I couldn't speak. I couldn't believe this was happening.
"You're just another fag!" He spat, I recoiled. I hated that word like no other. Sure, call me queer, call me a poof, just don't fucking call me that.
"SHUT UP!" I screamed, tears in the corners of my eyes.
Suddenly Ethan and the rest of the populars were there, and Elliot, and Brandon, and Dylan.
"Woah wait, you're... Gay?" Ethan laughed, "FLETCHER'S A FAG!" He started to chant, his friends joining in.
I could hear Elliot and Brandon join in, and I looked to Dylan for support, but he just stood shaking his head.
"No... W-why?" I cried, sinking to my knees as all the people got closer and closer, their voices ringing in my ears.
"Fletcher." I looked around.
"Fletcher!" Again, I started sobbing.
"FLETCHER! WAKE UP!" My mother yelled, I sprang from my bed, clammy with cold sweat, tears in the corner of my eyes.
My mother opened the door.
"Fletcher! Are you okay? What's wrong!"
"N-nothing mum... I just had a..."
"Nightmare? That's a first." She sighed. "Well, breakfast is on the table, don't be late for school. I've got to head to work early but I'll be back for tea."
I nodded. Silent.
"Are you sure you're okay?" She asked, concerned.
"I'm fine, don't worry." I wiped my eyes and started rummaging in my drawer for some trousers.
My mother sighed, and walked out.
I sat down on my bed, in shock.
What the hell was that dream? What if it was going to happen? What if it was a foresight and not a dream at all?
I finished getting dressed and slumped down the corridor to the kitchen, which was joined to the living room. The house was quite new, and the kitchen's grey marble worktops sparkled in the sun that streamed through the window above the sink.
"What was it about?" My brother, Kellin, asked.
"What was what about?" I grumbled, not in the mood for the 12 year old's antics.
