Beca had just been released from the hospital and Chloe wanted that day to be special.
"So, how do you want to celebrate?" Chloe asked Beca when they got into the car.
"I don't know." Beca said.
"I want today to be special." Chloe whined.
"How about we go out for lunch and then maybe go back to your place..." Beca said.
"I like the sound of that!" Chloe said.
"Can I plug my phone in?" Beca asked holding up an auxiliary cord.
"Sure, go for it!" Chloe replied.
They listened to Beca's playlist for a while until they finally arrived at the restaurant.
"Really, Cracker Barrel?" Beca remarked as they walked towards the door.
"It reminds me of my synchro team and our trip to Virginia. I'll tell you the story when we sit down." Chloe said opening the door for Beca.
They sat down at their table and looked at the menu.
"So what's the story?" Beca asked.
"Oh, when I was on a synchronized figure skating team, we went to a competition in Virginia. We had all taken a bus so we didn't have our cars with us. The only restaurant within walking distance was Cracker Barrel. We went for lunch and dinner, and settled on hotel food for breakfast. I remember that trip more than I remember competing." Chloe said.
"That's awesome. I wish I had a cool story." Beca said.
"Well, now you have the cool story of being kidnapped. That's way cooler than relying on Cracker Barrel for every meal for a week." Chloe said laughing. Beca laughed, but deep down she wished she could just forget about everything that had happened.
"Hey Beca?" Chloe said, snapping Beca out of her thoughts.
"Yeah Chloe." Beca replied.
"Do you want to go out on a date tomorrow? I found this really nice Italian place right off campus, I was thinking I could pick you up around six." Chloe said nervously.
"Of course! That would be great." Beca said.
"How may I help you ladies?" The waitress said.
"We're ready to order!" Chloe said and looked at the name tag. It read "Lucy".
"What would you like?" The waitress asked.
"Well, I would like a Diet Coke and the blackberry pancakes." Chloe said.
"I'll have a Sprite and the fried chicken, thanks." Beca said and handed Lucy the menus.
"Becs!" Chloe said.
"What?" Beca said.
"Her name is Lucy!" Chloe said.
"You know Chloe all you had to do was read her name tag to find that out, there's no reason to celebrate." Beca said.
"No Beca, my sister's name is Lucy. So it reminded me that you should meet my family!" Chloe said.
"Really? Are they as weird as you?" Beca asked jokingly.
"They might be worse." Chloe said.
They laughed for what felt like forever.
"So what's your family like?" Beca asked, suddenly interested.
"Well, I have two sisters. Their names are Lucy and Allyson. Allie is a few years younger than Lucy and I. Lucy and I are twins by the way." Chloe said.
"I had no idea you were a twin!" Beca said.
"Yeah she looks exactly like me, except she has blonde hair. My family has no idea where I got my red hair from. Both of my sisters have blonde hair." Chloe said.
"I can't wait to meet them." Beca said.
"Enough about my family, what's yours like?" Chloe asked.
"So as you know, my parents are divorced. My dad was dating the stepmonster." Beca shivered, but continued. "Anyways, I have a lot of brothers, so I never really got much attention." Beca said.
"All brothers? How many?"
"Five brothers and I have a sister that I've never met. She's six, I think. I lived with my dad and she has lived with my mom."
"You have to meet her!" Chloe said.
"You think so?"
"Duh!"
They continued talking and ate when their food came. Chloe paid since it was her idea to go to Cracker Barrel. Then they went back to Chloe's room.
