Chapter 16: Its happening

Zenix's POV
I was standing here by the door the whole day. Just guarding my old friend. I wish I could help her.. I was holding a communication amulet waiting for Aphmau. When suddenly.. Y/n moans. I quickly approach towards her.. Then.. I saw.. Its happening already.. They need to hurry.

"Zoey!" I called as the Elf friend of Aphmau quickly headed here Upstairs. She took off y/n's blanket and.. Her hands..  Their damn turning to a gray-ish pale color.. And y/n she was sweating hard. Her face looked like she's trying to open her eyes or wake up. I know... I've been through there too..

"Z-Zenix.. What's going on..!?" Zoey looked shock she gasps.. Dammit, Aphmau you need to Hurry.

"Zenix!" I heard the communication amulet, it was Aphmau.

"Aphmau.. Hurry up its happening." I looked at y/n she's trying to catch her breath.

"We're on our way Zen. We found the woman you informed to us." Hyria..

That witch helped me to control myself. Unlike other shadow knights. Controlled by the shadow lord. They where like hypnotized undead people. Whoever stands on their way are killed. Hyria treated me almost like her son. Even if sometimes I attempt to kill her just for no reason. She helped me through everything. But one day she said to me that I need to look for the thing I've been looking for the whole time I was alive before being a shadow Knight. I don't know what it is..

"I'm gonna vomit." What the!?

"Aphmau you're back!" I was scared when suddenly I heard her.

"Uh how did you get here so fast?" I asked.

"By the help of Magicks. And we brought your friend Zenix." Hyria greeted me with a smile as she says.

"Its nice to see you again Young man." She said. As I saw Lucinda roll her eyes.

"Me too Hyria.. But this is an Emergency.. Its happening." I was too worried. I have read books while I assisted Hyria back on the forest.

"What's going on?" She asks

"This girl.. An old friend of mine. She's stab on the back by a dagger. That Sasha holds. And we have no idea what it did to her." I pointed to the Unconscious y/n.

"What dagger is it?"

"We just heard her mumbling before she left y/n unconscious.. A.. Shadow Demon?" Aphmau worriedly answered.

Hyria walks to the bed where y/n is. She closes her eyes as she raises her staff above her body. After a few minutes of looking. She turns to us.

"This is not just a simple to be cured. Its going to take me more time to do this." She said turning to us worriedly.

"W-what do you mean?" Kent asks as his voice where shaky.

"Y/n needs to fight this.. If she won't.. Then the demon takes her body. Or worst.. Shad could." What the!?

"Hyria! Please take care of this! I know you're a strong witch. I've seen you do such things!" Crud. I'm not feeling good now.

"I will do everything I could do. But I need time. And I need to be alone to do this.."

"Then. Please take your time, Hyria." Aphmau exited as the others did. So did I.

"Kent.. She'll be fine. I promise you she will be."

"We are not sure. Zenix. We don't know what lies ahead." He looked worried, mad, confused and frustrated. Suddenly my vision started to blur. Then I stumbled myself. I feel sick.

"Z-Zenix.. Are you okay?" Aphmau walks up to me.

"Aphmau.. Can.. Can we talk privately?" I asked her. As she looked worried and curious at the same time. And then Laurence came glaring at me.

"Laurence.. I'm not going to do anything." I explained his eyes came back to his natural color.

Me and Aphmau walked downstairs and goes outside. As I sat to the ground and looked at the sky.

"Zenix.. What's wrong?" She taps my shoulder as I turned to her

"Aph.. Please don't be sad."

"Why would I be sad? What's going on?"

"Aphmau.. I might not came back after leaving you." I said straightly as her eyes where teary.

"Z-zen..?"

"When Sasha succeeded her plan. She has now the complete control each of us Shadow Knights. Right now.. I might disappear right in front of your eyes just because I was forcely summoned back to the nether with a painful way." I explained as her tears dropped down to her cheeks.

"Right when I leave there is a fifty-fifty chance that I'll com back or not. But, if I do come back.. Please understand me. I'm not in complete of control of my self anymore."

"Zenix. Please stay with us here! I don't want you to go.. Y/n needs you." Aph..

"Aph. Y/n doesn't need me. She's a big girl now like she used to say when we where young. Look, promise me to look out for her. And Aph.. This is nothing much but.. If I come back and not myself. Show me this please. Please, take care of it." I gave her a picture.. That I always carry with me when I was a kid. A 10 year old brat.

"Zenix.. Please..." She's now crying softly as she wiped her tears. Tear after tear.

"Hey.. I'm still here.. Look at me okay? I will always be a big brother to you even if we are not related." I smiled at her as I felt myself tearing apart in pieces.

"Zenix..!" She screams.

"Don't worry about me.. I'll be back."

"ZENIX!!" She screams a bit loud this time as she ran up to me.. And tried to hug me.. But was too late.

The calling of the nether, It already started.
