I had been saving up all of my paychecks for these VIP deluxe tickets. Melissa, my best friend, and I were on our way to go see my everything, Lana Del Rey. I had been anticipating this concert before she even announced the tour. I made sure to save at least 80% of my paychecks to pay for this moment right here. Melissa was just here because she knows how much I love her. She was a fan, but she didn't feel as much of a connection to her music as I did.

I felt like she already knew my life beforehand.

It was early July and I pulled out the dune buggy for this occasion.

"I don't really know if I want you to drive this thing" Melissa said with her cautious tone. "You do like to go fast"

"Have you heard Burning Desire?" I said. "Because even Lana drives fast" I said with a laugh. I hopped into the drivers seat and started the ignition. Melissa rolled her eyes at me, like always and shook her head.

"It's already enough that you look like a fruit loop dingus, but now I can't even drive?" I had all American everything, except for my shorts that were white basketball shorts. T-shirt, socks, shoes, wristband, headband, sunglasses. You named it, I had it on. I guess you could call me a dingus, but I was looking good.

"Nope." I said, flicking my sunglasses down and blasting Ride. I pulled out of my driveway and we were on our way.

I had an entire playlist full of pump up music. Melissa never really listened to music, so she didn't mind what I had on. As long as I was happy, she was too. We were complete and total opposites, but that's what made us work.

We finally arrived to Boston and got our close parking spots. I jumped out of the car, eager to get in that concert.

We had the opportunity to meet Lana both before and after the show, thanks to these awesome tickets. I basically ran to the stage, dragging Melissa with me, and showed the roadie our passes. He gave us a metal wristband to make this experience one to remember. I ran up those stairs and there I met her manager.

"Hello! You're Ali Heliger and Melissa Etheridge, right?"

"You betcha!" I said. I reminded myself of the dog that was about to get a Beggin' Strip in the commercials. Her manager laughed at my alacrity, while Melissa just gave another one of her world famous eye rolls.

"She'll be excited to meet you. Right this way."

And so we followed. I heard her band warming up and I could already see the goosebumps forming. I saw her name in big letters and had to use everything in me to not run through that door.

"Wait out here while I go and get her." Her manger said with a big and bright smile. I felt so at home already. Her manager came back out along with a surprise.

I was speechless.

I felt like I couldn't breathe and that this was it, but I was ok with that. I literally felt the tears in my eyes and I couldn't stop them. I went to go and hug her and she pulled me in, holding me so tight. All I could think of was This is a dream. If it is, I don't wanna wake up from this tonight, laughing at my own Lana reference on the inside.

It took me a good 7 minutes to stop crying. Embarrassing, right? She looked right into my eyes with her majestic dark green eyes.

"Would you like to come in?" I was too shell-shocked. Melissa answered for us with a slight chuckle.

"Yes, please. She would kill me if I say otherwise."

We walked into the room and she poured us some tea. I wondered if she drank tea or water before her shows? I finally came out of my shock coma and gain knowledge of some words.

"S-s-so how a-are yo-o-ou?" I stuttered, sounding like an imbecile. She laughed which caused me to smile and feel a lot more comfortable.

"I'm doing ok, more or less. And you?" She asked with genuineness in her voice. I didn't think she would ask about me. She's such a beautiful soul.

Melissa already knew how much more I wanted to see Lana than her, so she decided to leave me in the room by myself with her.

"You'll thank me later." She whispered.

I finally answered and said "Great. Lifted. Kind of wishing to eat a triple cheeseburger" I said. I don't know why I was being so honest. It was just something about her presence. She came over to the couch and sat next to me. I felt so many butterflies coming on. She put her arm around me and rubbed my back in a circular motion.

"You're really cute, you know that?" She said out of the blue. "I feel so comfortable around you, and I don't even know why." She said with a soft chuckle. She kissed my forehead and we stayed in that position.

The silence even felt comfortable. Like we've known each other forever.

I felt like telling her my entire life, answer ask about her life. It was weird. I'm usually such a quiet and reserved person. Even when I am mad, I don't talk about it.

But I just wanted to let everything go.

~~Lana's POV~~

This girl was something else. I never really did feel a type of love connection with a girl until I saw her. It was so weird because I always thought I was straight. Maybe I'm just lesbian for her, who knows. But this feeling felt...nice.

"I feel like telling you everything" We both said at the same time. She let out a loud laugh that sounded adorably obnoxious. I smiled and kissed her forehead. We sat in beautiful silence for what felt like hours. She seemed so different and I wanted to get to know her more, but I knew I had other fans to attend to.

I looked her in her dark brown eyes. They were filled with sadness but you could never tell if you weren't looking deeply. I smiled.

"I have other fans to meet, but I'll see you after the show, right?" I said. She nodded a yes. I tore off a slip of paper and wrote my phone number.

What am I doing?! The label will never permit this. But I can't help myself.

I really couldn't. And with that, we said goodbye, hugged, and the next fan came on in.

~~Ali's POV~~

Her flucking phone number.

I ran to Melissa and told her everything. She looked at me with wide eyes. She knew me and Lana would hit it off, but not that hard.

"Look at you! It was definitely the sunglasses." She joked. We both laughed, mine of course filling the stadium.

We found our seats and waited for the concert to commence.

I started to cry again.
