The Alpha's Call

Chapter 7-Kids

I was shown up the stairs and down some very long hallways. This house was big and truly amazing, it's like a mansion. There's probably three stories.

Vance brought me into a huge bedroom with a bed that looked like it took up half the room. "This is where you'll be staying, Luna. Um, can I ask your name?"

"It's Lexi, and who's Luna?" I said.

"Kade didn't tell you? Luna is the name for an Alpha's mate." He told me.

"Oh, that makes sense, sort of." I said.

"Good, Kade will be here in a minute, you actually got here on a busy day, he has a lot of business to take care of. But you will probably come first, he'll make sure your comfortable. Other than that we'll have some of the kitchen staff bring you food." He said before he left.

I flopped back on the bed. This isn't that bad but I'm going to act like it is because I'm petty. He brings me all the way here but then he has to work? That kinda shitty.

There was a knock at the door. "Yea?" I said.

A girl opened the door. "Hello Luna, I made some food, if you wanted to come down and eat. Alpha Kade is working but he might be down at some point." She said.

"Oh, sure I can eat. And you don't have to call me Luna, just Lexi is fine."

"Okay, Lexi follow me." She said and I followed her through the huge house. She led me into a dining area with huge windows and a large table. "I've laid the food out on a separate table for when the pack children come in. They eat here, but of course the Luna and Alpha eat first."

"Oh that's fine, they can eat with me, I love kids." I told her.

She walked into the other room. In a few moments kids started running in and playing, but when they saw me they all started to file into a single line. No one said anything.

"Awe, don't be like that! Get some food and sit down guys." I told them. All of a sudden they all smiles and ran to get food. One of the little girls walked up to me. She was the smallest of them all and was very shy.

"U-um, I heards Alpha Kade found a Luna. Are you her?" She asked.

"I suppose I am." I said giggling.

"Well, um, I made you a this." She said with a lisp. She held out to me a flower crown made of little daises and lilies.

"Oh thank you, I love it so much. Will you put it on for me?" I asked her and she nodded. I lowered my head and she put it on. "Why thank you-, hey what's your name?"

"I-Isabella. But all of my friends hall me Bell." She smiled.

"Okay Bell, would you come and get some food with me?" She nodded and we walked up.

All the kids sat around me and took turns telling me stories. I'm surprised they weren't fussy at all. Kids don't usually like veggies but they ate what was put in front of them. It was good too.

I heard a door open behind me. All the kids looked over then got silent. I looked behind me to see Kade. "What's this?" He asked.

"We're having dinner together." I said to him.

"Sounds nice." He smiled and proceeded to get food. The kids seemed shocked, like this doesn't usually happen. "I'm glad your getting along with the pups."
