I sat in my room on the verge of tears. I had to leave everything I have. But it's for the best, I have to protect myself. Jaida is coming to say goodbye, I told her I was moving but not why. I don't know what I'm going to tell her.

I heard the doorbell ring. I walked downstairs and opened it to find Jaida and my mom.

"Mom?" I asked.

"Jaida called me at work and said you were moving out, why? You classes don't start again for weeks." My mom said.

"Uh... Well..." I paused. "Freshmen classes start soon, so I'm going back to help them get settled. Like a tour guide." I lied.

"Well, I still wanted to spend time with you. You sure you can't just stay here?" Jaida asked.

"I'm sorry guys, college is important. I'll be back as soon as I can."

We hugged for a while and I started to cry. I don't want to go at all. Kade came to pick up my bags. We said uur last goodbyes and I got in the car with him. It must have been a while because I fell asleep at some point.

I was awoken my a nudge on my shoulder. "Huh?"

"Do you want anything?" He asked me, and I realized we were in a dunkin donuts.

"Really?" I asked him.

"Yea..." He questioned. "So is that a no?"

I ordered and waited for him to pull away from the intercom. "We're stopping at dunkin?"

"Lexi, were wolves not savages. We can drink coffee and drive like normal humans."

I got my drink and sipped it as I watched him drive away. "How long was I asleep?"

"A couple hours." He said. "We're about a half an hour a way."

"Okay." I said and thought to myself.

"When we get there, there's gonna be a lot of people. My beta Vance, also my little brother, will be around. There's staff to cook and clean, also a lot of guards."

"Sounds high maintenance." I said.

"That's good, then you will be properly pampered."

"I don't need to be pampered." I said. In my head was a different story. 'I better be getting pampered, he asks me to come here and leave my family, bitch I better be getting a five star spa day'

"If you want, I can take you to the spa." He said.

"How did you- oh yea." I remembered he could read my mind.

The rest of the way I stared out the window and sipped my tea. After a while we pulled up to big gates, then drove through woods to get to a house in the middle of an open field. Immediately people rushed out the door and brought our bags into the house. There was a man who was going over a schedule with Kade and I was helped out of a car by a younger boy in his teens.

"Hey, you must be the new Luna. I'm kinda glad Kade found you, he's a bit of an ass when he's not being watched." He said. "I'm Vance."

I smiled and laughed a bit at his joke. Maybe Kade wasn't that bad after all.
