Chapter 13

As the cats returned their camp, Dogshade, Windflower, and Dawnreed made their way straight to Hollyflight, Mudpaw, Willowpelt and Thrushberry in the medicine cat's den.
"Great StarClan!" Gasped Jaggedtooth. He ran over to the ViperClan deputy. "What happened to you?"
"She got in a skirmish with AshClan's deputy, Sneakingfoot." Dogshade replied.
The dark brown tom bristled with fury. "Mouse brain.. You didn't have to," He was stopped.
"Yes. I did have to take a patrol and train. I'm the deputy of Whitestar, so I must do as she says." The injured cream she-cat mewed.
"I'll flay that deputy!" Jaggedtooth spat.
"You don't have to." She told him.
"Why not?" He meowed.
"He'll learn his lesson." She replied. "How so?"
"Well for one thing," Feralstorm meowed as he drew near. "His leader looked mad."
Jaggedtooth grinned.
"I must say, for a leader so young," Jadepelt rasped. "He appears to be doing well." She licked her whiskers. Jaggedtooth nodded his head in agreement.
"Come on, let's take you in." Windflower meowed as she gently led the deputy inside.
Jaggedtooth walked next to Dawnreed. Dogshade gave an amused purr. Jaggedtooth looked back at her. "What?" He asked.
"Oh nothing." She purred. Jaggedtooth looked at her very confused.
Tallclaw padded up to her. "Grayfur says training went well other than what happenrd." He meowed.
"That's wonderful!" She chirped.
"Yup." Jaggedtooth meowed.
"Can you all go away?" Willowpelt snapped. "How are the four of us to do anything with all of this chatter like you're a bunch of squirrels?" She fixed a glare at her clanmates and they padded off, leaving Dawnreed in the medicine cat's den, holding Jaggedtooth's yearning glance as he looked over shoulder.

"Ow! It's crowded in here!" Snakepaw complained as he felt a back paw in his stomach.
"Well of course it is.." Thornpaw rumbled.
"Sorry." Daisypaw apologized, looking as if she wanted to shrink inside her neat in the apprentice's den.
"I can't wait until we're warriors." Thawpaw meowed, his eyes beginning to gleam.
Badgerpaw snorted. "If there'll even be enough room in the den by then... There's cats and cats..." He mewed. "Guys? What will we do about those wolves..? Starshine is hurt pretty bad.." Thistlepaw mewed starting to frown. Foxpaw comfortingly nuzzled her brother. "We can beat them! We're all strong cats!" She held her head high. "Yeah!" Beechpaw cheered in agreement.
