The Rabbit

I turn the lights on from the room I just went inside of. There's animals everywhere but caged up like prisoners. Aww poor animals. Dogs, cats, hamsters, pigs, monkeys and rabbits.
These people are monsters. These "Aliens" are monsters.

I look around some more and notice the most cutest rabbit in the whole world.

The right thing would be freeing all these animals

The right thing would be freeing all these animals. I'll start by this cute little thing. I smiled at the rabbit before looking for the lock. I slide the lock out and take the rabbit out. He's so cute. And so small and innocent.

Outside the door

"Where is she?!" Alex asks his captured guard.

"I don't know...All I know is that bitch hit me with something." The other man said

Don't worry little thing he won't find us here. I won't let him hurt you or the rest of your friends. I gently kiss the rabbit on top of his head. Suddenly something weird happened. The rabbit started shaking like a lot. A lot of white saliva kept flowing out of his tiny mouth. Holy shit! I think he's sick. What did they do to you. I dropped the rabbit down in front of me out of fear. I crawl backwards with my palms. Staring into the rabbit eyes. It turns red. Blood red to be exact.
I'm breathing hard now. I don't understand what's going on but I gotta get the heck out of here. Shit was about to get even worse. The rabbit was growing like literally growing. He's the size of a dog now. I looked around to see if I can find something to defend myself with. The rabbit grows much more bigger and faster before my eyes. He's the size of a baby horse now.

"We're still friends right?" I asked the rabbit sarcastically and fearful for my life now.

Out of no where; he flings himself at me and just in time I grab a broom near me and hold his body up. Only a few inches from my face. I'm struggling to hold on.

"Help!" I called out. The least of my worries would be Alex. I need to get this animal off me.

The disgusting white saliva is dripping down from his mouth to my face. I think I'm going to be sick. This is what I get for helping a defenseless little rabbit. Which of course who turned into a monster.

Within seconds Alex breaks the door down.

"You took it out of its cage? Are you insane?" He asks as he tries to get closer to me without pissing off the rabbit

"Can we please not have this conversation right here and especially not right now." I'm not in the mood to be answering ridiculous questions in a situation like this.

"Sir? Here! Take this!" His guard hands him a shot gun

"No Matt."

"What you mean no!!!" I screamed as the rabbit press his body on top of me some more

I kicked the rabbit in the stomach which bought me some time to hit the rabbit in the face with the broom stick.
Alex rushes behind the rabbit and jumps on his back. Alex wraps his hand around the rabbit beck and pinch him with two fingers. The rabbit passes out and falls on top of Alex. I tried to lift the rabbit off of Alex but after several minutes the rabbit was back to his normal size. I lean back staring at the rabbit and at Alex.

"Explain? Now." I'm almost out of breath

Alex lifts himself up from the floor.
"These animals aren't normal. If you haven't figured that out yet." Even after all that he keeps his sarcasm attitude.

I shake my head. "How did you got him to go back to his normal size?"

"First off, it's a she. And secondly, I pinch a pressure point of hers."

I gesture to Alex to continue speaking.

He sighs. "They're experiments gone wrong." Alex sits on the floor next to me after he places the rabbit back into the cage. "In order to actually handle one of them is by treating them the opposite of the way you'll normally would to a pet."

I look at him mesmerized. He's more gorgeous than ever. But I can't forget what plans he has in store for me.

"So what's next? Going to lock me up after you just saved my life."

He looks at me like he was trying to figure me out. "No. There's no point in doing that." He stands up and lowers his hand for me to grab it.

We walked out the room and head back to the center of the lab. I look at him once more before siting down. I rest my head on the table using my hands.

"You can go now Matt, I'll take it from here." Matt nods his head. Before leaving he shoots me a nasty glare.

"Hmm.." I giggled a bit

"Not a big fan of yours." Alex says while putting the IV away.

"I did hit him with a chair." I say before helping him with the IV cords.

Alex shoots me a stare "impressive..."

"Yeah.." I smiled a little then stop.

He notices my shift of emotion. "You should be proud. I mean you survived a rabbit from eating you alive."

I look at him quickly "wait...so that's what it wanted to do to me? Have me for lunch." Oh my goodness.

Alex laughs then stops. "You're not so bad for a human."

I look down. "And you're not that bad for an alien."

Moments later

Stevie walks in. "You're alive?!"

"All thanks to Alex too." I saw Stevie face turned from relief to confused.

Alex explained "The animals we have in unit 6."

"Oh" All that Stevie managed to say.

Joe appears from the back. "Alex. Sir? Are we still looking into the Earth takeover?"

"Earth takeover?" I crossed my arms as I turned to face Alex.

"It's business." He tells me as he heads towards the hallway.

I follow him to the hallway and watch him stare at a screen on the wall. I move closer and noticed that the screen was showing the earth. Alex stays still almost admiring the view.

"I have a confession to make." Alex says while still looking at the screen.

I move much closer now that my shoulder is inches away from touching his.

"I've been watching you since the moment you got here." That surprised me a lot.
