I pulled my hood up higher over my head as the rain poured down. People rushed past me, talking and conversing but not really paying much attention to their surroundings. I hurried to the small house and tugged the key from my pocket, fiddling with the lock before opening the creaking door and shutting it behind me. I locked it behind me and hit the light switch, lighting up the small house. I shuffled my jacket off and set it down on the dining table and walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge, pulling out a slice of leftover pizza and heating it up in the oven. I grabbed that and a soda and sat down on my couch, eating slowly. After I was finished eating, I filled a glass with water and set it down on the table, focusing my attention on it and moving my hand. It lifted slightly and then fell.

I hit my fist against the table, aggravation etching across my features. I'd been at this for a week and I never got anywhere. I put my head down on the table, groaning in annoyance. "Mako, I don't know how to do this." I whined. I stood up. "That's it, I'm talking to Korra." I said and went to the couch once more, sat cross legged and closed my eyes. Almost instantly I pulled myself into the Spirit World.

"You're really lost aren't you?" Korra asked. We were in the usual place.

"I know you said you couldn't teach me anything but i'm desperate. Mako's captured by Control and-" She shook her head.

"Mako wouldn't be able to teach you either." She said and I gave her a confused look.

"What? But Mako was trained-"

"Mako was trained in awakening a bender's potential. If it were in my time, it would've been simple to just teach you. But you live in a different time and with that, comes a different mind set. The way I was taught was offensive, hard-hitting, but water-bending also had to be soft and flowy. I don't think my style would work for you, Kairi. You've got to find your own way. It's your bending, you must connect with it."

Then I was pulled back into the physical world. I fell back against the couch with a groan. "You are no help Korra." I said bitterly and checked the clock on the wall. It was ten P.m. I shoved my shoes off and headed into my room, lying down on the bed. I'd work on this tomorrow.

I spent the entirety of my morning meditating. It was something I had picked up after having my chi cleansed in the Painted lady's river. It helped me to deal with my emotions while not letting them control me. I accepted them and in turn, my bending-though small and weak-was still physically possible.

At about noon, I pulled my hair up in a ponytail and headed out. I'd decided that I would take a break from attempting to bend the water and have some fun. Mako had made sure I'd had a stack of cash on me when I left for the compound and I'd been living off of that. And when I say stack, Mean about five thousand dollars.

I found the rink and stepped inside, paying for my skates and sat down to tie them up. "You again?" Oh no, that voice. I looked up to see the infamous Alivia Chandler scowling down at me.

"Why do you keep showing up?" I whined and she narrowed her eyes.

"Hey, I don't exactly like seeing you either." She hissed.

"Whatever." I growled and finished tying up my skates and stormed out onto the ice, gliding easily. I rolled my shoulders back, attempting to just relax and forget about my problems. However it seemed one particular problem didn't seem keen on leaving me alone.

"I want a rematch." She announced, skating beside me. I shot her an annoyed glance.

"Can't you just accept that you lost?" I asked and she scowled at me.

"I may have lost then, but I know you're not as great as you want people to believe. You flutzed the first time I saw you." She pointed out. I sighed in annoyance and stopped skating to turn too her.
