"So you're sure this is going to work?" Alivia asked for the fifth time as we hurried through the hallways of an abandoned building. I shook my head.

"Nope. No other options though. You ready?" I asked and she shrugged.

"No, no other options though. You ready?" She mocked. I rolled my eyes.

"As ready as I can be. Bend." I ordered and she shot out a wave of air blasts. I gasped as I picked up on the Energy bender, bending. Located in the U.S., Portland, Oregon, holy shit they lived two blocks away from my old house! They stopped energy bending and I lost the connection but it didn't matter. I had their location. I looked at Alivia and nodded.

"Want to reminicesce in Portland?" I asked her and she groaned in annoyance and grabbed my hand and started pulling me through the building towards the exit. We hadn't been attacked yet, so it was safe to assume there weren't any control officers in the area. She pulled out her cell phone and started to text quickly and then snapped it shut and turned too me.

"Ever rode in a private jet before?" She asked.

"Surprisingly, yes. Mako was loaded." I explained and she pulled me towards a waiting cab and we headed straight to the airport. Apparently it would be there when we got there. And low and behold, it was. Despite the fact that I'd already been in a private jet before, I was still awed at it. We climbed onto the jet and I immediately ordered food. Aw, I could get used too this.

"Really, Kairi? cheeseburger, french fries, and a chocolate shake? You should know better than anyone figure skaters must watch what they eat." Alivia said snobbishly. I rolled my eyes.

"Uh-I'm not a competing figure skater anymore. Besides, I still ate like this even when I was. It's okay to indulge occasionally." I defended.

"How much is occasionally for you?" She asked and I decided not to respond as the lady returned with my food, all of it looking delicious. I took a big bite of my cheeseburger, making sure to stare Alivia down as I did so. She rolled her eyes but said nothing. She ordered a sandwich and grape juice for herself and then the attendant left once more to get her food.

"So Kairi, why is it I never see you waterbend?" She asked. Damn, I was hoping this question would not come up.

"I'm not like you." I said simply. She scoffed.

"Well of course not, I have style and class and fame and fortune and beauty and-" I shot her a murderous look and she cut off abruptly. "What do you mean?" She asked begrudgingly. I knew that I'd have to explain it too her someday and today was as good as any I suppose, I just didn't want to have to deal with her snarky comments. So with a sigh, my mind was made.

"You have a very...material connection to your bending. Physical. Your bending comes naturally to you because it is not affected by your mental or emotional state. My bending is. Mako called it the spiritual side of bending, the deeper connection to your element then just wielding it. The problem is, I tend to block my spiritual side, my emotions, and think with my head. That caused a block in my chi." I explaind. She raised an eyebrow.

"Your chi?" She asked and I nodded.

"It's a ancient Chinese thing, really important to benders. Chi is like the energy flowing through you and if your chi is blocked, sometimes it can stop you from bending alltogether." I told her.

"So your chi is blocked?" She asked and I shook my head.

"No, not anymore. When it was, no matter what I did I couldn't waterbend. I could heal myself and subconsciously when my emotions went out of control my waterbending would act up but consciously, I couldn't bend. So, while I was with Mako in the fire nation-er-the lost islands, I went to a lake that was said to be the last place where the spirit world and physical world met. There, the waters removed the blocks in my chi." I told her.
