Ashton Tells You He Loves You (for Chiara)

"Chiara, are you coming!?"

"Just a second, Ash!" you called down the stairs. You were packing up a bag to go spend the day at the beach with your best friend, Ashton.

"I'll be waiting in the car! Hurry up you slow poke!" he teased.

You gathered your stuff quickly and ran down the stairs, meeting Ashton in the car. Pretty soon you were at the beach. You both grabbed all your stuff and found a good spot in the sand. You had arrived just in time for lunch, so you were both fairly hungry. You laid out your towels and enjoyed the lunch Ashton packed.

"Let's go get in the water." Ashton offered, standing up and pulling off his shirt. You stopped for a moment to admire his bare chest.

"Can I help you?" he questioned when he noticed you staring.

"No." You brushed it off, standing up and removing your shirt and shorts. Leaving you in only your swimsuit. You looked up and saw Ashton looking you up and down.

"Can I help you?" you laughed.

"Let's go." he blushed as he grabbed your hand, pulling you towards the water.

"It's cold, Ashton!" you exclaimed when your feet touched the water. You pulled your hand from his grasp and stepped away from the shore.

"C'mon, Chiara! Don't be such a baby!" he turned around and grabbed you around the waist, throwing you over his shoulder. "Ashton, put me down!" you giggled. He laughed loudly and carried you deeper into the water. He stopped and tossed you in. Once your head reached the surface, you saw Ashton laughing uncontrollably.

"You think that's funny?" you questioned.

"I think it's hilarious." he giggled. You swam closer to him before splashing him right in the face. He laughed harder and splashed you back. You started to swim away from him in a fit of laughter. You kept swimming until you were stopped by a pair of arms wrapping around your waist.

"You're not getting away that easily." Ashton giggled as he turned you around to face him.

There must have been something about how the sun was hitting you two, because right there in that moment,  Ashton's eyes had never looked more beautiful. You both just stood there, his arms around you, looking into each other's eyes. You had this feeling bubbling inside of you that you had never felt before for Ashton. He must have felt something too, because, before you knew it, his mouth was on yours. Your lips moved in sync. You felt butterflies in your stomach-the good kind. You never knew you could feel this way for Ashton. Your best friend now felt like more. He pulled away and rested his forehead on yours.

"I love you, Chiara. I have for a long time."

"I love you too, Ash. I can't believe I didn't realize it until now."

He smiled and kissed you again. It felt wonderful. Just you and Ashton. That was all you needed.
