I paced the flat restlessly, I hadn't heard anything from Sherlock. Mycroft had kept me distracted with chess, but it didn't last long.
"Pacing won't make him come home faster." Mycroft commented, gazing at me.
"Shut up." I growled and picked the tea kettle up, pouring myself a cup of tea.
"Don't tell me to shut up!" Mycroft snapped. I picked up my cup and sat in Sherlock's chair glaring at him.
"I'm going to ask this again, please give me the answer." He groaned and shot a dark glare at me.
"Go ahead." Mycroft snarled.
"What is going on!?" I shouted this time, my angry words echoed through the flat. I heard Ms.Hudson squeak and run back down the stairs.
"I can't tell you." Mycroft scowled and sighed.
"Why not!?" I cried and stood up.
"Because I cannot!" Mycroft insisted and looked around the room. I walked over to the window.
"Are your men going to try to kill me again if I go outside to get some fresh air." I asked.
"Yes." He said plainly. I frowned and kept pacing. "Please try to keep calm, Sherlock would kill me if you died." He rolled his eyes. I scoffed and glared at him.
"Thanks for the sympathy!" I sat on the couch and gazed out the window, Sherlock was walking towards the door. I jumped back up and nearly ripped the door off of its hinges as I took off down the stairs, waiting for him to come in. The door opened, and Sherlock entered. I ran forward and wrapped my arms around him.
"Sherlock please tell me what's going on!" I begged him. He held the embrace for a moment.
"Go upstairs, Mycroft's guards are coming inside." He ordered, his voice was cold. I nodded warily and went upstairs. I saw Rory exit from my office room. I sighed and sat down at the table sipping my tea. Sherlock burst through the door, he looked furious.
"You shot at her!" Sherlock roared, making Mycroft jump.
"She tried to get out!" Mycroft protested.
"This whole thing was so she didn't die!" Sherlock snapped, I stood slowly, staring at him.
"What? What could kill me?!" I felt my stomach churn with anxiety.
".... Y/N please go wait in our room.." Sherlock gazed hesitantly at me.
"Sherlock-"
"I'm sorry Y/N, but please trust me!" Sherlock had a pleading look in his eyes. I inhaled about to retort but sighed.
"Yeah okay.." I muttered and walked to our room. I sat in the silence, the distant angry mutters were just outside the door.
'A lot of things could kill me, a new criminal, Moriarty, some other thing' I thought as I laid. across the bed. The bedroom door opened, Sherlock entered, a emotionless look sat where it normally was upon his face.
"Are you going to tell me what's going on?" I sat up and crossed my legs looking at him.
"We think Moriarty has a partner who's after you... Probably for Moriarty's new plan.." Sherlock explained.
"It's the counsellor! It has to be!" I cried.
"Y/N.. It's not the counsellor, we already took him off the suspect list.." Sherlock replied calmly.
"So you don't know who it is?" I shuddered looking at him.
"No.. But I promise you we will find out!" He put his hand on my shoulder.
I tenses and nodded.
"Okay... What about Moriarty?" A shiver rolled up my spine.
"He was sighted a few blocks away, that's why we went on full lockdown." Sherlock explained. I sighed and leaned against him. "I'm sorry for not telling you.." He whispered. I didn't reply. I was too tired to respond and was pretty much dozing off on his shoulder. He chuckled and laid down, I laid my head onto his chest hearing his heart thump.
"Thanks for protecting me.." I murmured. He ran his fingers through my hair.
"I'm supposed to do that aren't I? That's what... "Boyfriends" are for right?" He said boyfriends like it was a word from another language.
"Well I can protect to you.." I ruffled his hair.
"Yeah sure." He smirked sarcastically.
"I can!" I sat up hovering over him.
"Yeah right! You get shot every time you walk out the bloody door!" He teased. I gasped pretending to be offended.
"I do not! Only most of the time I walk out the door!" I cried laying on top of him.
"Hey get off!" Sherlock struggled.
"Nope. Not until you admit I can protect you.." I smirked.
"Well you'll be there a while.."
"John can bring us tea." I yawned and resumed my position. An hour past and I had nearly fallen asleep when he replied.
"Fine.. You may be able to protect me in some situations!" Sherlock admitted finally. I sat up and laughed.
"Yes!!" I threw my fists into the air.
"You must be tired. You're never that happy!" He grinned, gazing up at me. I laid down next to him and smiled.
"Shut up.. I'm happy a lot of the time!" I laughed and wrapped my arms around him.
"Fine.." Sherlock murmured and closed his eyes. I blushed and smiled. I drifted off next to him. Morning came and it was silent. I slowly opened my eyes to the dreary London morning. I groaned and felt Sherlock's arms around my waist. I tried to sit up but was smothered by Sherlocks tall sleeping weight. I unraveled myself from his arms and slipped out of bed. The house was dead quiet, only the sound of Ross typing upon his keyboard. I entered the bathroom and jumped in the shower, washing my hair. I stretched my limbs, I gazed at my scars from all of my encounters with Jim Moriarty, there were an exceptional amount. I hopped back out and brushed my hair and put some makeup on, and got ready to go to work. I walked out the door shouting goodbye to Sherlock and took a taxi to the office. I stared out the window at the buildings passing, London was oddly beautiful in a modern way.. I smiled to myself as the taxi parked. I pulled the door open and stepped out paying the cabbie. I walked inside and looked around.
"Ma'am!" Charles cried running over to me, nearly tripping over a pencil. I chuckled.
"Hello Charles." My lips pulled into a slight smile.
"We have a case!" Charles beamed up at me. My smile widened.
"Nice! Alright let's go get our case and get out of here!" I smirked and took off for Lestrade's office.Next chapter will be about your work more than you and Sherlock because I haven't done a full case chapter in a while! Alright hope you liked this you guys!
