Chapter Two

LaTavia

I was halfway finished with my work when my phone rang I stopped typing and I answered my phone 

'Hello?"

"Hey lil sis" Michael said

I softly smiled 

"Hey Michael" I said quietly and continued typing

"You good tavia?" he asked

"Yeah just working why? wassup?"

"you coming to the studio later with my niece?"

"Yeah but no smoking around my baby' I said clicking on the print button

"LaTavia I know why you think me and the boys smoking now?"

"mhm..Ok  Michael, I'll see you there"

"Alright bye lil sis"

"Bye" I said quietly before hanging up 

I finished printing and filing and i sat the remaining papers on my bosses desk and i went in the backroom and the boss was doing the nasty with one of the workers I quickly grabbed my stuff and left and i got in my car, I drove home and i changed my clothes {outfit on the side} and i checked the time and I grabbed my keys and left to pick up Aliyah

"mommy!" Aliyah said running towards me with her book-bag 

"Hey sweetie!" I said scooping her up and walking towards the teacher 'How was she?" I asked

"she was a little bit talkative but that's okay I don't like shy students she was very cooperative and she listened she did very well today" Mrs.James said

"Okay thank you"

"Bye Mrs. Jones" Aliyah said 

"Bye Aliyah see you Monday" 

I walked off to my car and I strapped Aliyah in her carseat and drove off to the studio

"Uncle Michael!" Aliyah said running in and hugging him

"Hey Liyah" Michael said scooping her up in her arms kissing her forehead 

"Where's Auntie Amber?"

"She's in the office Liyah" 

Liyah hopped off Michael's lap and ran down the hall to the office 

"hey lil sis" Michael said hugging me 

"Hey big bro.." i said quietly 

"Lemme introduce you to some people"

"Okay" i said looking around 

"That's August, the one in the booth and that's trindad" 

"Hi.." I mumbled 

"Hey LaTavia"  he said looking at me up and down licking his lips 

August walked out the booth and smiled at me, i smiled back a little

"Hello ma" his thick Louisiana accent chimed in my ears

"Hi.." I said sitting down next to Michael 

"What cha name is shawty?"

"LaTavia" I mumbled

"What? I didn't hear you shawty"

"LaTavia" I said a little bit louder

"Nice name shawty"

"Thank you" i said

Aliyah came in the room and she sat on my lap

"she's your daughter?" August asked

"mhmm.." i said fixing her two poof tails 

"she's a beautiful little girl" 

"thank you!" Aliyah said looking at him smiling 

"You're  welcome" August said

"What's your name?" Aliyah asked

"August Alsina what's yours?"

"Aliyah Marie Stevenson" 

"Pretty name how old are you?" 

"Four how old are you?"

"i'm 22"

"you're one year older then my mommy! you guys could get married and have millions of babies!" 

August chuckled 

"I don't know your mommy well enough yet Aliyah"

Aliyah made a sad face and looked at me and i rubbed her cheek

"he's cute mommy" she whispered to me 

"Girl..you're too young talking bout' boys cute"

Aliyah smiled

"That's how you know i'm your daughter"

"Girl be quiet" I said and she hopped off my lap and ran in the booth with michael

"So your michael's sister?" 

"mhmm.." I mumbled 

I got up and got a hookah pen out my purse and I went outside and lit me up non nicotine hookah pen and i sat on the chair and shortly after August came out and lit a blunt and sat in the chair across from me 

"I hope you don't mind, I didn't wanna smoke with your little girl inside"

"thank you" I mumbled "apperciate it"

"No problem" August said blowing his smoke out 

We sat there and smoked for a minute 

"So.." August started "tell me a little bit about yourself"

I stopped smoking and looked at him

"nah i'm not comfortable around you yet" 

August nodded "Understandable shawty" 

August finished his blunt and went back inside the studio
