MOLLY POV

Beau ran into the parlor, and darted towards the tattooed man at the register.

I looked at Beau through the plexiglass door. He smiled at me, happy at his thoughts. I gave him a confused look, trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together.

He walked out to me and grabbed my hands. "Sweetheart what are you doing?" I asked.

"I want to show you that no matter how far apart we are, you will always be with me," he started.

"Beau I still don't-"

"I don't care if you've next door or across 10 oceans, I will love you indefinitely." He looked at me and held my hands close to his chest. "I know I was afraid of loving you before, but now the only thing I'm afraid  of is not letting you know how I feel."

My eyes teared up as I listened to him speak. This was what I've been wanting to hear for so long.

"You are everything to me."

He stopped, trying to gain momentum for his next speech.

"When I saw you in that burning house, I didn't know who you were, but seeing you so vulnerable and helpless...when I lifted you up and saw your face, covered in ash and smoke, something happened to me. I felt a connection with you. Like I already loved you.

"I took you out to the front yard and held you until the ambulance came. Having you in my arms-this beautiful stranger-....I loved you and I didn't  even know you.

"Then they told me I couldn't ride with you, and I was so angry. This angel I just saved, I felt like I was responsible for you. I felt that nothing could hurt you if I were around. I wanted to be by your side and be there  when you woke up....

"Then when they took me to the hospital and we were gonna be in the same room, I felt so elated, like my world was back together. Then I said you, awake and healthy, and it was absolute ecstasy."

My eyes were  framed with tears as I listened to his words. I wanted to tell him the same, but I couldn't find words as beautiful as what he used. All I could  think to saw was "I love you, Beau."

"I love you too Wildflower," and we leaned into each other for a sweet kiss.

He grabbed my hand and led me in the parlor. He walked up to the man with tattoo sleeves running down his arms, and long white hair on his head and goatee.

"Hey Beau, are you a walk in today?" He asked.

Beau gave the man a "bro" handshake and smiled at him.

"Yeah, but all I need is a small tattoo, is that alright?" Beau asked.

"Yeah, come with me," he said and waved us over to a chair.

I watched all that was happening intently. He's getting a tattoo. Of what though?

"Where is it gonna be?" the bearded man asked.

"Here," and Beau pointed to the crown on his tri-crown tattoo that symbolised him. "right on top of the crown."

"What's it gonna be?" the man asked again.

Beau had my hand in his and he squeezed it as he answered the tattoo artist. "A purple wildflower."

My eyes grew heavy with tears as I looked at Beau. He looked up at me, wanting to see my reaction to the surprise. I mouthed "I love you" to him, and he returned my gesture.

The man filled up the ink gun and started drawing. Beau acted so indifferent to the needle, and he just looked at me as the man branded him with the symbol of our love.

When he was finished, he put a plastic cover over it to hold the ink. Tears were still rimming my eyes as I looked at Beau.

The past, in that moment didn't matter. The future was a distant fate. Nothing existed except for him and I in that moment.

BEAU POV

"Well, you have definitely outdone me for Christmas presents..." she said as we rode back home. She giggled and I laughed with her. She was so precious.

"Well, you definitely outdo me for being a better girlfriend than I am boyfriend, so if you think about it, we're even." I winked at her and she grinned.

The pebble felt like a weight in my pocket. I couldn't stop thinking about proposing to her. I wanted to ask her to marry me so badly, but at the same time I had no clue what she would do.

I looked back at her beautiful smiling face, which brought a smile to my own. Molly Brown Brooks.

I was thinking about how I would propose to her, if I would at all when she said it. I was so surprised I accidently flored the car when she spoke.

"Turn back around. I want to get a tattoo," she said.

I looked at her in shock of the randomness. "Are you okay?" I asked, just to make sure.

"Yes I'm fine!" she answered.

"Okay then...what would the tattoo be of?"

She got a thoughtful look on her face.

".....I dunno..."

I chuckled. "Do you still want me to turn around then?"

She looked at me and then looked ahead. "I guess not, but I'm getting the tattoo when I think of it!"

I smiled at this precious creature who sat beside of me; the one represented on my arm; the one I saved; the one I love. "Okay, darling. Just tell me when you want to go."

She smiled at me, and I could see the love for me she had radiate in her white teeth. I grabbed her hand and kissed the back of her palm.

I then realized what I would be getting her for Christmas.
