Kätherine Lamont stood at the end zone ready to kick the ball. Her jersey now sticking to her sides using the sweat as glue, her cleats burrowing into the torn up grass. She clenched her teeth as tight as possible as she ran towards and kicked it with all her might. Everything seemed to slow down and everyone seemed to stop what they were doing to watch the ball fly to the other end of the field. "Touchdown. Touchdown. Touchdown. Please be a touchdown!" a voice quiet yet rushed chanted repeatedly. The announcer broke her thoughts "The magnificent, young and talented Kätherine Lamont of Spartaville High has done it again! Leading her team to victory with a score of 48-44!" Everyone applauded. The boys in the opposing team were shocked not quite believing a girl half their size helped win a game. Her teammates hugged her til she turned purple.

After the game they had ran to the locker rooms or their cars to get out of their uniforms. Kätherine, who somehow got dressed way before the boys got into the locker rooms, came out of the lil ladies room in a cherry blossom romper, with maroon Chuck Taylors and an old SpartaVille Middle Junior Varsity Football Jacket draped over her shoulder. She sat down in the bleachers to the side by the ol' baseball diamond and brushed her matted, frizzy hair with her fingers and put it in a messy bun. Alex "the LineBacker" Dennis and Cade "the Big Guns Quarter Back" Mayer found Kätherine or "Lil Lucy Kicker" as they liked to call her even though she didn't approve, sitting near the baseball diamond staring at the main bleachers.

They saw giggly, squeeling cheerleaders from both schools crowding around Mason "the most gorgeous sixteen year old ever" Myers. They all cringed and rolled their eyes and made throw-up gestures to each other. It was disgusting how all the girls could fall for him in a split second. Not only was the team disgusted with Mason, they were enraged. He had bought his popularity with his stupid, wonky smile, high jawline, bright blue eyes and perfectly messy brownish-black hair. Oh, and his dad owned the largest jersey company in the world! Rhyan "Star Runningback" Evans would always joke about how their jerseys would help make them aggresive on and off the field because of Mason. That was until Alex got sick and tired of it and almost broke Rhyans wrist and his own thumb.
