Jacqueline fell back against a lawn chair and touched her lip. She looked down at her fingers to see a thick red substance, like paint from Sarah's Easel. She looked up to her mother charging at her with a hanger, now broken.
"Listen here ya little-"
Jacq rammed her finger into her mothers side and kicked her leg, and ran inside and through the front door. She could hear her mother stomping through the hallway as she jiggled the knob. The door swung open and just as she had gotten her foot out her mother grabbed her arm and spun her around. She hit Jacq over the head with the ruler and she felt a crack in her nose. Jacq raised her fingers and jabbed her mother in the eye. She saw a blinding pair of lights beside her and a loud screech. She turned, only to be knocked down by a green Mazda. A young woman hooped out of the car, throwing her loose hijab around her ner neck.
"Oh my god are you ok? Are you ok?"
The woman gasped and saw Jacqs mother running after her. She grabbed Jacq and threw her into the car. She began driving and went in circles.
"Are you ok?"
"Im fine" lied Jacq.
The woman jerked the car into park and picked up her cell phone. She spoke rapid Arabic into the phone, and began muttering quickly.
"I need an officer, yes yes it is. I have a little girl, her mother beat her. I need one immediately. Hurry. Yes, please."
The woman just turned to Jacq and began stroking her face. "What happened?"
"I- my mother was upset with me for being an atheist."
"Oh- that's no way to be."
"I know. This is not the first time."
The woman slowly began tucking her Hijab back so it wasn't so loose, and dropped a Bobby pin when they hear a loud "CRACK!" Come from the back of the window. It's Jacqeline's mother. She had grabbed a large stick and fracked the windshield. She raised her arm and struck the window again. Jacq turned, surprised at the loud noise of police sirens.
